Unfortunately, I have a feeling this is the weekend even the sunshine pumpers jump off of the bandwagon.
A&M's lineup is relentless. I just haven't seen anything from LSU's bats that leads me to believe they can keep up. It'll be a miracle if they don't get run-ruled on Sunday.

You never know.
Last year LSU is #1 and on a roll. Going 8-1 in their last 3 SEC series and heading to Auburn on the heels of two straight series sweeps. For their part, Auburn was 9-12, but had won back-to-back SEC series for the first time all season after struggling against the better teams in the league.
Auburn surprises LSU by winning the series. They then go on to sweep Ole Miss and Missouri to end the season en route to a regional appearance.

If we win 2 games that would be a quarter of all of A&M’s losses on the season. Would be really impressive to pull it off.

Really think the whole season comes down to this weekend. If LSU wins the series we are going to the postseason. If not our chances plummet. Just dont see how LSU can sweep Alabama or Ole Miss given we couldnt even do it against Auburn.

A good place to start is not having a guy batting 177 leading off

Gotta find a way to avoid the sweep. A series win would be equivalent to sweeping anyone else.
I'm calling it now.. aggie comes out flat and we steal the series.

I just hope LSU can win one game vs the little brother Aggies.

quote:Auburn hosted a regional last year even. LSU is 7-14 not 9-12 so not saying they can get back into position to host at all but just like Auburn last year, they have a chance to upset #1 this weekend and then finish strong in their last 2 series and be a borderline 2 seed if they go 7-2 the rest of the way.

Still a bit of hopium left

ATM, doesn't need wins as bad as LSU does. Maybe that's a good thing. We may play better in a home environment with our backs against the wall.
Around this time last year, LSU lost two consecutive series against Auburn and Miss State. The losses against Auburn are what took us out of #1 in the country. What that signals to me is even though ATM has looked dominate, its not unheard of for a SEC team with a lesser record to win a series as we saw ourselves last year.
It will really all come down to pitching. The offensive output will likely be what it has been, meaning we have to have excellent pitching from Jump, Holman, Ack (if he's able to go), Herring, etc. The pitching has to carry this team in this series to have a chance.

Let’s put Paul Skenes in the lineup.

What would be great is if we could get to Sunday without using herring and then give him the start sunday to keep it close . We probably win last Sunday if we start herring

CJJ has to figure out how to win this series
No he doesn't. The path to getting into a regional is this:
Win 1 vs A&M
Win 2 vs Bama
Win 3 vs Ole Miss
Gets you 13 SEC Wins
Win your first two games minimum in the SEC tournament.

We ain't winning this series. I'd love to be wrong, but I doubt it very much.

It all depends on how well our starting pitching does. It's going to be the most difficult series they play all year. If Holman or Jump go deep enough in their starts then I am pretty sure we will see Herring start this weekend.

How does one figure out how to win a series?
He needs to pull all the right strings. Like last weekend starting Anderson was a mistake. Also finding the right lineup each game based on pitching matchups. His decisions have left a lot to be desired but if he gets it together this weekend watch out.
