Rich Gannon.
Because…why not?

top 25% of the starting QBs in the league... don't think he'll ever be an all-pro or anything, but he could develop, with the proper coaching and talent around him, to be a solid starting QB in the NFL

Rattler could always rip it and make all the throws.
His problem has always been once he makes a mistake it almost snowballs into a shite game.
And if he makes a few throws then he will have a good game.

Shorter Jay Cutler in terms of play style. What does that translate to in terms of accolades? Maybe solid starter.

Should've doubled up with Michael pratt.

No clue. Its all in his head and who coaches him up. He has the arm talent and can run. Probably a very good thing he wasn't thrown to the wolves.

There is no ceiling. The sky is the limit. He has all the talent in the world and could b an elite qb. Is that likely? No it is not. But he has the talent

that type of thing could break a kid.
And they lost 2 games afterwards, including the OU/OSU game, in which Rattler didn't even get in. This, despite Caleb Williams throwing for under 200 yds *in Lincoln Riley's system* 3 times in the final 6 regular season games, including just 87 yds in a win against Iowa State the week before the Okie State game. So Williams wasn't perfect at that point. He might have been the better prospect, but I could see Rattler being pissed off by not even having a chance.
I know Williams had better numbers the next couple seasons, but Rattler putting up over 3k at South Carolina (NOT the ultimate passing system) a couple years in a row isn't terrible at all.
You could suggest Rattler was already left for dead once, and revived his career. Dude might be a fighter. We could use one.

He’s never shown that.
He has arm talent. Moves decently.
But that’s pretty much it.
He’d have to be a totally different QB in the pros.

You know what? He's been three people already. The 17 year old phenomenon. The OU savior. The reclamation project at USC.
I don't doubt his...moxy.

I think his ceiling is a long career with maybe one or two pro-bowls and a super bowl if he is surrounded with the right makeup.
He's definitely a worthwhile project under Carr.

The PFF guys were talking like he could’ve been a top of the draft type player if things went better, as in he has the tools

Probably a slightly Edgier version of Derek Carr tbh

Arguably that’s current Top 10 or more than 1/3 of starters. That’s some high pressure for a 5th rounder (would take Purdy type lightning in a bottle) to break that group.

Less mobile Lamar Jackson

I think more so than any other player in the draft, he has the widest range of outcomes.
He definitely has the tools to become a Pro Bowl type QB. He’s got the physical traits. Showed some poise and work ethic at SC and growth as a player and person. I don’t think he’ll ever be in the same breath as Allen or Mahomes, but if he puts it together he can be a guy that can win you a SB. He could also flame out this year to Jake Haener. He could also just be a serviceable backup. None of those would really shock me, either

Pretty much every scouting report I’ve read on him disagrees with you but go off message board scout
I’m not saying he’s going to come in and be Caleb Williams from Day 1. But if he sits for a year, and he works his arse off, there’s plenty to develop. Depends on his work ethic and the right coaching.
