100%. If one falls to you at 14 then cool. But if 4-5 go before your pick. And 3 WR’s, 3-4 QB’s, then that means a really good defender could be there. Or Bowers.

I’d be just happy with Fautanu. He’s a day 1 plug and play starter at LT or LG. If by some ridiculous luck happens and Penning develops into a starting LT then Fauntanu would be the best of the group to kick inside and have success. I think JC Latham ends up being the first taken followed by Alt and then Fuaga.

No way we trade up for a tackle.

I think it’s rumors for positioning to trade back

What a Joke the Front office is, We are NOT-A-PLAYER away.

We have Holes all over this team, Trade down and do Your job evaluating the players you Draft with the picks you get!!

Half the league wants to trade down so it’s not as simple as saying hey let’s trade down and magically boom your picking at 22 with an additional second rounder

but I do feel highly confident that New Orleans will be taking a bookend blocker in Round 1.

The odds are (-500) to draft an offensive lineman.Way to go out on the reach Daniel.

Smart teams would sit and take whatever star falls. Only 13 players can be gone. The reason we never have draft picks is because we have no patience..

If we are going to be stupid and make trades to move up, it better be for the top rated tackle, and not the 4th or 5th best tackle.

There's significant chatter that Latham will be the first tackle off the board.

I would love to ‘settle’ for this guy. He’s going to have a long and successful career in the nfl

,...at Guard

He also has a degenerative knee, so "long" may be a reach

frick loomis man. Going to trade up for like the 3rd best O tackle on an aging, expensive roster.

So we fill a tackle spot with a potential good-great player. That will easily take the 2nd we have and then some, leaving you with a bunch of mid round meh to try and continue turning over this roster for Dennis Allen and Derek Carr.

Earn your fricking paychecks. If you can’t get one of your tiered guys at 14 then go to plan B. But when you keep using multiple picks to get a single player and other teams are rebuilding at a rate of 1:1 you’re always playing catch up. It’s maddening.

I really see us staying pat at 14, taking Bowers or the CB1, then trading back up into the first to get the stud OT that falls. If we can do that trade for 2 second rounders, that’s a win.

Trading 2 second rounders to get into the first round?

Pretty sure future picks are viewed as a round less than their allotted value so a future first has roughly a second round value this year. There is no shot a team will give up a first and a 5th year option for two 2nds.

Trading up should be for Quarterbacks or elite playmakers.

Not linemen

Linemen are very valuable, but I want to see what a new line coach can do with Penning before we cast him out.

Right now the Saints have three good linement with one who has a very bad knee. So it could be just two in McCoy and Ruiz.

I think Wide Receiver is as big a need as OT. Olave and Shaheed are not WR1 on a winning team.

When you are in cap hell, BPA for round 1 and 2 should always be the play to help move expensive veterans out.

So stupid to trade up for a Tackle. We are not a tackle away from competing.

I think the rumors of 3-4 Tackles going before our pick are just that: Rumors. Teams are playing right now to get desperate teams to try and move up. Particularly us, because they know how desperate and stupid we are.

However, if someone like Rome Odunze or Dallas Turner is there, I am doing two things:

Waiting until the last second to see if someone blows us away with an offer, which they may because both to me are high level prospects.

And if not, I am running to pick one of them and worrying about OL in the rest of the draft.
