People already getting sick of Landry, and he hasn't made it 6 months as Governor yet.
The Flag, Outlaw Hemp and Porn, install Government Secrecy, etc. Landry is on a Roll.
Meanwhile our roads, bridges, homeowners and auto insurance rates, along with high sales taxes continue to be a detriment to our state.

So just because Landry has been shitty you want to elect someone that we already know is shitty? You are showing exactly what the problem is with Louisiana voters.

Louisiana is a test bed for big government social conservatism.

Just pointing out he can legally run again in 4 years.

Louisiana will never elect the right person. It’ll always be a Jeff Landry or JBE.

I’ve never been more disappointed in someone I’ve voted for as I am in Landry.

Three conservatives enter the race, and all that comes out is a semi retarded democrat or an idiot Republican, all corrupt as hell.
This state deserves the shitty governors we continue to elect. Hey, at least we didn’t end up with a guy who slept with a hooker 8 years ago. The state escaped a big win there…

I really have tried to keep an open mind until the first regular session is over. But ugh. First removing citizens right to know what their government is doing and now this:
SB497 removes restrictions on who Landry can appoint to the Board of Ethics
Up in Senate and Governmental Affairs tomorrow.
Right now the governor can appoint 7 members of the 11 member Board of Ethics (they investigate ethics violations, including those committed by the governor and his staff and cabinet members). However those 7 members must be chosen from a list submitted by Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. In other words, organizations that governor does not have power over.
Make this change and the governor would suddenly have a super majority of a board that is responsible for keeping the governor (and other government employees) in check.
You almost have to admire the boldness.

More proof it doesn’t matter what you side you are on, all politicians are horrible, horrible people. Didn’t another poster just mention we should have elected a guy who diddled hookers with state funds, and the state would be better shape? Lmfao

quote:I mean I dont believe Landry is shitty by any stretch obviously hes better than JBE and its early but maybe you can piss and moan at your favorite Louisiana democrats who ran a terrible gubernatorial candidate former head of DOTD to challenge him not even into a runoff.. I guess there was nobody better imagine that. BTW Landrys pride in our pretty state is top notch.

Things were actually better and more stabile before this new republican governor utopia began. Now it’s stupid stuff on a daily basis.
