I bet the fee is baked into that $12 beer. Won’t argue cards are easier. But one should have a choice. I don’t want a cashless society, although I rarely carry it.
Do you think if you pay cash, you are going to get a discount?
Do you think if they get rid of cards alltogehter, they are going to reduce the price of the beer?
These vendors know that the processing cost of cards is less than the cost of dealing with cash.

Cashless society gives government too much power unilaterally.
Please explain this one to me. If you are doing the right thing, the government knows all of your income.
If you are using cash to hide some of your income, F you. If I have to pay the government so should you.

Typical LA Lege/Landry celebrating benign bullshite instead of doing real work for Louisiana

This bill is going to end up costing the schools money. 1) This is going to cause service to be even slower, which will result in people getting frustrated and buying less 2) You will need to hire cash management people. People to hand out the cash banks before the stadium opens, collect cash, count cash during and after the event, amored truck to collect deposits, etc. 3) You will need to re-do the POS system, purchasing cash registers, etc, as I'm sure they got rid of all of that previously. Now, they just use tablets and handhelds, but they will need to inttroduce a cash collection aspect of that. 4) Cash walks away. Maybe intentional, maybe not, but cash will come up missing.
I’m not saying you are wrong but it’s sad that what worked for thousands of thousands of years can’t be trusted or run efficiently today.
Second you act like there are never issues with card systems. Was in the super dome and the Wi-Fi or whatever went down and they were unable to sell concessions for almost the entire halftime and it backed lines up to ridiculously long. I had cash as well but was unable to use it.

No doubt and I'm sure Sodexo Live and all the subs lost a lot of money during that. Seems like it is a risk they are willing to take.

My mom is in town and I've had a blast watching the (still masked) tranny cashiers at Trader Joe's and Home Depot glower at her while she happily roots around in her purse for exact change. Completely oblivious, she is

All I know is that US currency says right on it:
This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private.
So how is it legal to not accept cash?

All you have to do is look at how people are calling for the government to seize Russian bank accounts in the USA to realize how this can be used against you.
Holding everything in a bank account and being unable to withdraw actual cash from said account because we've moved to a "cashless society" gives the government complete control over your finances and your ability to purchase anything.
ETA: I'm honestly shocked I had to spell this out.

Which I assume would include a fee on top of already ridiculous prices for concessions etc.

Your assumption is incorrect.
You pay that fee. Whether you realize it or not, or whether it is outright stated or not, you pay it. Any business that does card transactions is not footing the bill for a per-transaction charge. I've actually been in three different restaurants in the past few months that have signage that openly states there are two prices, a cash price and a card price, with the cash price being cheaper.
You do pay a fee.

I wish they’d all go broke. I’m sick of hearing support local and they stack on the fees. I don’t care about their cost of doing business, it’s their problem.
This is about as fricking stupid as the idiot who said, "The crawfish restaurants are just trying to make money, frick em!"

The same way they can choose to not accept large bills, which also has that note one it.

This means they CAN accept it.
It doesn't mean they HAVE to accept it.

You sound like the few clients I have who don't want direct deposit of a tax refund, or direct debit of a tax due, because "then the government will know my account information"
Meanwhile, they will have a refund check mailed to them, or will mail a check, which uses THE EXACT SAME ACCOUNT.
If the government wants to tap or limit your accoubt, guess what, they are going to do so, this makes no difference.
As far as government seizing Russian Bank accounts... I mean if they are doing illegal things...
Take the tin foil hat off brother...

I don't think you realize that this battle was already lost during the War on Drugs. Using cash legally is not very easy for anything above random, small, daily purchases.
If you're carrying large amounts of cash, cops can legally seize it and make you argue why you should get it back.
Using cash in large amounts is basically for black markets these days.

the note on the bills makes it legal, not mandatory, for that cash to be used for transactions....
but good try, i guess

As a criminal defense attorney, I can vouch for the fact that I've had many clients over the years find out that the government can, quite easily, find and freeze literally every account they have, even the ones they "never used for anything".
Finding the cash squirreled away in the walls takes a bit more effort, but that's a different animal
