Just go and do it. I sat on a jury for a murder trial two years ago.
It was honestly a great experience. All the jurors were dead serious about getting it right and took the task very seriously.
I'd want the same if I was on trial. Also, the dude got convicted as he was guilty as hell.

I have always been a registered voter and I was only called once. I mentioned it to my parents. I was in my early 20s with two small children. My parents called someone and saod I did not have a babysitter. I didn't have to go and have never been called again. Now it seems super odd that my parents called but hey it is Louisiana.

If you’re a white male, chances are you won’t be on a jury. Also, just keep your head low and don’t ask question or raise your hand.

Sitting in courthouse waiting to go into the courtroom for jury duty this morning. It’s a civil trial.

If it's personal injury case. State you have issues about the attorney getting such a high percentage of a win. They will probably ask you if you can see past those issues..just shrug with an "I don't know" look. You'll be home an hour later.

No one likes jury duty except maybe loners who are retired or don't work. Having said that, consider how you would feel if you were either a plaintiff or defendant in a jury trial.

Had a dude one time reply to "can you maintain non bias during a trial" with "No! He looks guilty!". He was promptly cut. This was for a murder trial for an ms-13 Mexican and the juror had a work shirt on with his company and name on it. Bold move sir.

I was just reading through this thread the other day glad I haven't had to serve in about 5 years.
Yesterday I checked my mail and got a summons. This thread jinxed me.

I bet you complain about bogus verdicts.

Answer all questions in a chicken clucking voice... It shocks people and they will leave you alone.

When asked a question by the attorney reply "Im sure at some point in his life the defendant did something to deserve the death penalty".
And you will be released with a quickness.

I moved back to Louisiana in 2002 and was never summoned for jury duty until I registered to vote against Joe Biden. I was never summoned based on driver's license alone. Since re-registering to vote, I've been summoned twice in a 9 month period and got excused based on medical disability.
THIS - almost every time I vote, within 2 months or less I get a jury duty notification. And in Tangipahoa Parish, they send a deputy to your house with the summons and you have to sign for it because people were ignoring the mailed notifications. Have a relative 79 years old and after 70 you're exempt, and they still send the deputy to her house with the summons and she has to tell them what the law is.
