If I’m DJT, I come out strong about pardoning minorities that are overwhelmingly jailed …

for minor drug offenses.
If he could then take a flesh wound leaving court in a drive by he’d get 90% of the black and Hispanic vote.

Yeah that’ll fix it.
Pandering to the weak and lawless is never a way to be a real leader.
Sounds like something the Democrats would do though.

There are minorities overwhelmingly jailed for minor drug offenses in federal prison?

Thomas sowell and Ben Shapiro talk about this often:
There is no “jailed for minor drug offenses” problem in America.
It’s based on egregious misreading of the stats.
The stats *do* show that there are an enormous number of people in jail who have drug charges/convictions, but that is just *part* of why they are in jail. They are in jail for more serious offenses, often involving guns or domestic violence.
Please educate yourself.
Of the Americans currently sitting in a jail cell while carrying drug charges, about 87.5% were charged with other things as well

What he needs to rally on is how minorities can be railroaded by the government, just like him, but don’t have the assets to fight it.

The overwhelming majority of minor drug offenses are state or local, which he can’t do anything about. Considering the feds don’t arrest people for “minor drug offenses” to begin with, this would just be empty pandering far beneath him

That’s the play.
Pander and he’s a lock.

It’s not about facts it’s about the storyline.

I’ve been involved with doing some Right On crime policy changes in Florida-
I haven’t seen the Shapiro/Sowell discussion but I’ll find it for sure but if their hypothesis is correct then it makes no sense why the elected republicans fight making nominal changes to catch the actual drug dealers/providers and try to rehabilitate the users.

Who about all people for minor drug offenses?
Why would a black and Mexican walk free for something but not a white man?
frick pandering for votes, do the right thing.

I hate this democrat talking point. If you open the morning paper you will see the majority of the time it’s blacks who were either arrested or wanted for a crime. Should we not jail them because the optics looks bad. Well good news for you because the blue cities are releasing criminals without having to post bail to go and commit other crimes
