That’s a good one. I’ll never go without one of these again.

It was a game changer for me. You can put a razor edge on a blade in 60 seconds. The wife was an instant fan after the first time I ran all the kitchen knives through it.
I sharpen knives for people on occasion. I sharpen a lot of kitchen knives, and when I give them back to the person I always give them a bandaid with it. If you're used to cutting vegetables with a dull paring knife, your thumb will need the bandaid the first first time you use a good, sharp one.

probably because they carry more crap in their pockets. Phones, AirPods, etc.

When I was cleaning out Mom's stuff after she passed away, I found a pocket knife with an unusual name hand carved on the side. I did some internet research and figured out whose knife it was (apparently, early in mom's teaching career, she had to take this knife from a student or the knife was in lost and found somewhere).. I called up this woman to see if she wanted the knife for sentimental reasons. Her response was basically, "he was my uncle, we don't give a shite, do what you want to do with the knife."

It is no coincidence that this country started going to shite when men stopped carrying pocket knives on a regular basis.
I blame it on when air guitar contest were nationally broadcast.

I've given 2 as gifts, they'll love it.

I was given this as a gift from my trainer after going through all the process, I've had it in my right pocket ever since. Case makes great knives.

I have my grandfather's old Case knife. I don't use it for anything, but still keep it for sentimental reasons. It was his EDK. It's probably 80 years old

I have my grandfather’s old timer that he sharpened down to a nub. I remember him cleaning his dentures with that thing daily.

I still carry one daily but it’s definitely frowned upon here in Europe. My coworker freaked out a little when I pulled my knife out at work one day.
What part of Europe?

I carry one with me everywhere for 2 reasons...a knife is a useful tool, and "stray strapped or get clapped". I don't think I'll beat someone with a gun, I'm not a complete fool. But a knife can be a useful deterrent in many situations.
That being said. Take it easy grandpa. If all you do is bitch about shite and never explain WHY the kids should have a knife, then they'll never carry one.

I collect pocket knives and have about 6 or 7 in my daily carry rotation. I don't know anyone else who does.
I also learned how to sharpen edges razor shop.
Dying art for sure.

At a recent family get-together my cousin's wife was making fun of him for carrying a pocket knife. Every male member of the family then stood up and pulled out their pocket knife.
ETA: and my wife carries one in her purse. She got tired of asking me to open Amazon boxes.
