Lynard Skynard left early last night at the Cajun Dome

We went to the ZZ Top, Lynard Skynard, Black Stone Cherry concert last night at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette.
Everyone in our group and others around us thought Lynard Skynard played a very short set as compared to the other two bands. Johnny Van Zant kept trying to get more screaming out of the crowd and create more enthusiasm but remember folks, most people including our group is that everyone was at least in their sixties and many much older. Many slow walking, using canes, walkers etc.. it seems they cut the playlist real short since they didn’t get the results when he would yell “Come on Lafayette let me hear you!” It was fun but really weird. ZZ Top was awesome and Black Stone Cherry blew the place out the water, amazing band. Glad we went still. God bless Billy Gibbons, he was amazing at 74 years old! ROCK ON.

Most talented cover band out there, but it is what it is.

My wife and I were there last night! Amazing show by all three bands! Second time seeing Skynyrd, first time seeing Black Stone Cherry and ZZ Top.
I didn’t feel like Skynyrd left early, they played pretty much all the songs I remember them playing when we saw them in 2022.

Search on setlist.fm for setlists from other joint shows. Compare to what you saw.

Skynyrd's set list last night was the same they played in Biloxi two weeks ago (I was there too). A 15-song headline set as part of a bill featuring three major acts is plenty sufficient IMHO.
Then again, I'm admittedly biased ...

Agreed. Third time I’ve seen them. They killed it last night. Just awesome.

Was there with my mom and step dad. Our tickets were on the floor in the last row. We get there and the tickets won’t scan so I’m thinking shite I got fake tickets. We’re redirected to the ticket office and informed that they had to put a mixer where our seats were supposed to be so they re-assigned us…..to the front frickin row
We had an awesome time. ZZ Top was incredible, minimal talking and straight to the music. I’m not a HUGE Skynyrd fan but I have always felt simple man is one of the best songs of all time and they didn’t disappoint. Putting up a video of Ronnie and letting him sing the second verse of free bird was awesome too. Also, their guitarist Rick Medlocke gave us an absolute face melter of a solo at the end of free bird. I didn’t think they ended early, those older bands normally go about an hour and a half
Front row was kick arse but man is it loud. Had a pretty good headache when I got home but it was worth it
Also, they had issues with people running up to the front row and standing in front of the people who had paid for front row, trying to get videos and stuff. Security had to be called several times. A lot of people in the front were getting pissed. We were at the end of the front row so we were good but the ones in the middle were losing it

Man, I was thrilled to get to hear ZZ play live. I grew up a big fan of Skynyrd and it was a treat to get to see them perform again, but it was an honor to be in the same building as the man himself, the legend Billy Gibbons.

Who has taken Dusty Hill’s old spot in ZZ Top?

Saw them in Biloxi a couple weeks ago. Played their whole set, but I could tell he didn't want to accept the age of his crowd. Im not a fan but I went because my son wanted to go. I could sense a bit of frustration from the lead.

For those unaware, Elwood was ZZ Top's VERY longtime guitar tech prior to Dusty's passing. As his health deteriorated prior to his death, Dusty made it very clear his wish that Billy and Frank continue on, with Elwood specifically as his successor.
Elwood is also the coolest dude on the planet, I love him like a big brother.
