Louisiana: Name me one person on this list that you are happy with

Bill Cassidy
John Kennedy
Steve Scalise
Troy Carter
Clay Higgins
Mike Johnson
Julia Letlow
Garret Graves
Mike Johnson might as well join with Cassidy and switch to Democrat. Hes rolling over for them all anyway.
The best that can be said is that at least Clay Higgins votes how I prefer but LA leadership sucks
I admit I dont know much about Julia Letlow

At this point, I absolutely loathe the entirety of Congress.
But every Republican in the delegation is preferable to Troy Carter and Cleo Fields, or any of the Democrats who ran against Cassidy/Kennedy for Senate.
ETA: Whether we agree with every single thing or not, Louisiana is also in a disproportionately more powerful posture in Congress with these people in their respective positions (Speaker, Majority Leader, Graves and Letlow on important committees, Higgins is chair of the border subcommittee). That isn't nothing.

Happy? Eh.
“Good enough”? Kennedy. And frankly that is not what I would have said 10-20-30 years ago given second hand interactions with him.

Johnson is about to give the Dems everything they want all with no border security. He's weak

Mike Johnson told us REPEATEDLY no Ukraine money without border security. We've gotten the exact opposite.
He came out with 4 bills:
$61 billion for Ukraine
$26 billion for Israel
$8 billion for Taiwan
+ banning TikTok, and a Ukraine loan

Might as well be a Dem if you are just going to bend over for them

I don't understand why people are so obsessed with national politics when the people making the decisions that will have much larger effect on their day to day lives are in the State Capitol Building and Governor's Mansion.

This just isn't as true as it used to be
For that to be true you would have to ignore the border issue, inflation, etc

No longer reside in my home state of this list is one of the reasons
Posted on 4/19/24 at 9:29 am to stout
The ineptitude is caused by how bad their opposition is during the elections. I feel like we just elect liars. Part of me wants to run but then I'm in the public's eye and I want none of that.

Because people don't want to believe that their downhome buddies in the Legislature are crooked as well. Folks in Louisiana don't want to believe the conservative Governor they elected without a runoff is already using the first legislative session to put more power in the hands of the 4th Floor and to make it harder for voters to know what deals elected officials are making with their tax dollars.
It's just much easier to listen to Tucker Carlson rant about Washington, D.C. than admit your own local "conservative" buddies at the Capitol are possibly playing the same games.

The border issue is not a huge impact in Louisiana. We certainly have illegals here but it seems the "worker bees" are the ones who come here, we aren't having the crime problems other states have (maybe it's becase the illegals don't think they can compete with our local home-grown criminals, lol)
The things people most look for from government - roads, schools, general safety, etc, are all provided at the state ahd local levels.

You can add Jeff Landry to the list for me.
Claims to be a conservative all
While giving himself more power. Is doing literally the opposite of what I’d like a good conservative to do. Pisses me off.

When Trump loses this fall, and we lose the house and the Dems consolidate power, you are going to see just how much "Johnson is like a Dem"
We will go from "Johnson rolling over" to "Dems drive a 100K lb steamroller over all the country".
