---I still think Trey will be a solid starter...so it's not a shot at him. I just really like Dyson's potential.
---BTW: My definition of "better" is...which player gives you the best chance to actually win a serious game of basketball...like a playoff game in the NBA.

I hope to see growth in Dyson’s playmaking ability which includes being able to drive lanes and score inside. His shot has been improving which I expect to only go up.
Both Dyson and Trey will be around for quite some time I hope.

If that's true, it's probably because he works out in the small ball 5 role.

First time hearing this.

We have so many young talented guys. We need a leader than can develop them and put them in a position to succeed.

Can his shot take the same jump as Herbs?
If so, LOVE the upside. If not, he’s an average bench dude.

I'm hoping that BOTH Dyson and Herb expand their offensive games to include playmaking, driving to the hoop etc...I'm just dumb enough to think Herb is ALREADY...our 2nd "best" player...and once he's convinced that he IS our 2nd best player...he'll become a much different player offensively...than he currently is.. and in a VERY good way.

NO way he can take a "jump" on 3s...like Herb did this year...41.8% is a bridge too far...I'd luv to see Dyson shoot 35-37% from 3 this next season...and after that, just small improvements for the next few years.

If Dyson could get to 37-38% next year that would be huge. That'd give me some hope he can get to 40+.. Though if he can get to 38% on higher volume that's not a bad thing even if he doesn't improve too much on that.
What I'd like to see too is him being more confident around the rim and driving to the lane with more force. He has a pretty big body, I wish he would use it instead of being so hesitant around the rim.
An uptick in rebounds be nice too, though it's pretty hard to look like a great rebounder in the amount of minutes he's getting right now.

I mean to be fair Dyson whole potential is based upon only his defense. For Dyson to end up being a better player than Trey he needs make substantial strides on offense in several areas. Not saying its not possible(just look at Herb). But not highly likely either.
That being said even small offensive strides can help Dyson be an important part of the team. I just think in offensive driven league Trey will always hold more value.

I believe in Dyson more than most but Trey’s shot is generational and he’s beginning to do more off the dribble. Trey’s 3 pt % will only go up as he’s surrounded by other shooters to pull defenders away from him. He doesn’t need any space at all with the arc on the shot

They're both important as I think Dyson ends up more consistent with a lower ceiling than Trey who's either hot or cold. Trey has so many games either 13 or under and over 22 with my) not a lot in between. Dyson can raise the floor to help keep the team in more games but Trey has the firepower to help put over the top in more games.

Dyson's shooting was AWFUL for 80% of the season , he had an uptick for the last few games , before I stop thinking he's a wasted #6 pick he'll have to consistently keep that uptick in shooting. An offensive liability is not allowed in today's NBA

He was the 8 pick, same as Hayes.
I never wavered on him. I just think it may take a few years to reach his full potential, I think he gets there and hopefully Griff isn’t stupid and trades him before it happens.

Bumping this again for the Dyson stans. Nailed to the bench. Rough ride fellas.

Dyson is going to take a long time imo.
Jalen williams should've been the pick.
