maybe at that market they have on Saturdays on 621? If not, there's probably someone there who would know.

The actual loquats in southern Japan are the best fruit I've ever had. They have like a 60 day window. Juicy and sweet. They are called "biwa" bee-wa.

the trees are all in fruit right now, but it’s not a grocery store item. Best bets are farmers markets, fruit stands or a neighborhood tree
BTW, offer still stands for anyone. I have many loquat seedlings free to a good owner, in Hammond

The only place that I would think that carries them is Bao on Airline in the same shopping center Spanky's is in.

You may be better off finding a neighbor with a tree in their yard.

I looked up the fruit and those trees grew all over the neighborhood.. As kids we would eat those things by the bucket.. Always would get diarrhea...

There's a bunch of fruit on the trees in front of Baton Rouge clinic. Try picking those.

We have a huge one in our backyard in Monroe, if you want to take the drive

They are delicious when ripe.

And the sweet wine that the Japanese make from them is excellent over ice as a desert.

Tip: Worms love them too. Crack in half (inspect)vs pop in mouth/spit seeds out. Unless you don’t wanna know. Then carry on.

Try the Prairieville flea market. They usually have produce vendors

I'm from Pitt and have a tree in my backyard and don't eat them. You can come get as many as you want from the tree or I can pre-pick a box for you and leave them out on my front porch for you, just let me know. #yinzer
