Ford has been building are storing 2024 F-150s for a few months, to help dealers clear out 2023s. With demand still low, you could get a deal on an overpriced truck.

The Blue Oval built 144,000 units of the trucks in the early part of the year, and after delay dealers, is working to get them to dealers, while also slashing prices for the all-electric F-150 Lightning by as much as 7.5 percent.

What about F-250?
There are 31,000+ for sale new across the country, that is a lot.

Yeah and 90% are XL work trucks. The inventory of Lariat and higher trims is increasing though

They're going to have to do a whole hell of a lot more than 7.5%.

I hope all truck prices cave and dealers are left with a massive bill for all their inventory.

The ridiculous prices of these trucks is in no way sustainable. Just outrageous.

It's April and they still have that many 2023 models?
Buy a 2023 model. They look better anyways.

Holy shite. That's current inventory of only the F-250? Not F-series in general?

Hopefully Yokem Toyota in Shreveport dies a slow, painful death. Needed to buy a new truck in 2022 and they definitely got over on me. Should have tried to hold out longer because dealerships were finally doing away with the market adjustments but of course the dealership that gets the exact truck I had been waiting for was the one dealership in a 200 mile radius that was still doing market adjustments

Inventory of Ram trucks remains very high, along with most of their Jeep models. Ford was almost as bad as Ram a month or two ago, but they might be worse now. It's especially odd considering how Ford's pickup factories were targeted directly (and intentionally) by the UAW with strikes last year - so their supply should be much lower.
General Motors is doing a better job of matching supply and demand, but their inventory is also getting higher for the full sized pickups, although their full sized SUVs and mid sized pickups are still in short supply.
Toyota's Tundra is also accumulating more than normal for Toyota. Toyota doesn't have the same union contracts as the American companies, so they can calibrate production more easily.
Not sure if the buyer that these vehicles are targeting happens to be falling on hard times right now or if they just failed to meet the target itself (by pricing them too high, making them too large, etc.). But it's clear that full sized pickups are starting to collect on dealer lots and in various places where the manufacturers are stashing them in the interim.

I think they are pricing out much of their target market. What percentage of the population can comfortably afford 50-70k trucks?

7.5% of $60K is only $4,500. That's not a price plunge. If they start going 10K+ off, I'd consider that a plunge.

The dealers wont lose a penny because of an oversupply
