Because absolutely NOTHING in life is getting cheaper
We are being fricked in every position from every direction. Our politicians no longer serve their constituents, they only serve themselves and our country will keep declining until that changes (never)
Been this way for a longgggg time

The more computerized your vehicle, the more costly it is to repair. Insurance passing those costs onto you.

I’m not an expert in this field, but when all the costs are going up it only follows that the premiums will follow.

And let's not forget all the idiots on the road without any form of insurance.

That’s the way it should be done if no damages.

I doubt the costs have come down enough and for a lengthy enough period of time. A family member of mine recently totaled one of our vehicles. My insurance company was surprisingly great. Got a more than fair check for the value and the insurance on the newer similar model vehicle went up only $210 for the year with high policy limits.

because auto insurance is a for profit business. full stop

Who pays when that happens?
You get into a wreck with a non insured vehicle and its your fault. (Your insurance pays)

I am surprised this is even an issue that remains discussed.
1. We have a horrible legal enviroment.
2.We have the most plantiff attys per drivers in the country.
3. We have the worst drivers in the country. I grew up here and left for 35 years before returning. I am stunned at the # of accidents. Namely rear end collisions. Drivers here are not good.
4. Premiums are high which drives down insured drivers
5. Plantiff attys tell everyone on every other commercial how insurance companies are evil and they can "make it rain" for you.
Pretty simple math if you ask me.

One can look at all kinds of explanations, factors and formulas, but in my experience car insurance generally never comes down. I've been buying car insurance >40 years and the only time I've experienced a significant drop in the premium was due to a specific change in insurance company, vehicle, location, etc. At 18 yo I was told it'd go down at 21 yo. It didn't. I was told it'd go down when I went from 2 door to 4 door. It didn't. I was told It'd go down when I got married. It didn't. I just shop it regularly looking for the best deal, but never expect a significant drop in the premium.

That’s 100% false. Shocking that someone would believe that.

And nothing happens to the other driver. They may get a fine or their license suspended but they were already driving without insurance, you think a suspended license is going to bother them?
I've said it before and a few bleeding hearts don't like to hear this because "we're over-criminalized already" or "jails are already too crowded", but driving without a valid license, active insurance, and/or active registration should result in jail time. Because the current set up is not deterring people from driving illegally enough because they don't fear the consequences of it.
At the very least if cops don't want to pull over every car without a plate or temp tag (they already don't, I see cops drive by them and do nothing and I know if I can see it they can), this should happen for any accident that happens and someone falls in that category. The more we can deter such drivers from being on the road, the fewer of them there will be on the road, and claims will go way down and then premiums can come down with it.

I’m not even suggesting that police pull these folks over randomly, but if they get in wrecks or get pulled over for a moving violation, tow their fricking vehicle is they don’t have a DL or insurance. Make them suffer and have to pay along with showing proof they are legal to drive before getting their vehicle back.

Because of plaintiff attorneys, bad judges, and ignorant juries.

Anybody else notice how an oil change is up 75% in the last 4 years?

The cost of repairs isn’t falling. It’s growing slower than it was. But it’s still growing as is the price of literally everything.

There was a thread on here about a baw's F250 taillights costing 7k to replace. You have all of these cameras and sensors in non-premium vehicles like a Honda.
I'm sure all of these seriously bloat repair costs.
