I’m a real coonass. I know where to get a plate lunch in Broussard.

But I’ve got some folks coming in who want Cajun in NOLA.

(I know, I know.)

Is there anything close?

Toups has a few items but isn’t really Cajun. Atchafalaya is comme ci comme ca. Trenasse puts beef broth in its boudin balls.

You got anything else?

I'm gonna catch some flak for this, but using your Broussard gauge, Deanie's on Ibbervlle is what you're looking for, Go early.

What foods are you looking for? New Orleans is not Cajun.

Lil Dizzy’s would probably be your best bet.

I would also suggest Miss River.

Queen’s Cuisine on Airline. More souls food, but could work.

It’s hard to beat Mosquito Supper Club when it comes to Bayou Cajun food.

If they don't understand New Orleans isn't a cajum destination, then they probably wouldn't know if you just lied and said any random restaurant was cajun.

Like a good gumbo, jambalaya, red beans, ettouffee? Because they have those in NOLA. Just not a pure Cajun restaurant.

Just go to Cochon.

You’ll have a better meal than any of the other crap and they won’t know the difference.

Cochon is great.
