Claim: President Joe Biden claimed on Wednesday that inflation was “skyrocketing” when he took office.
“Look we have dramatically reduced inflation from 9% down to close to 3% we’re in a situation where we’re better situated and we were we took office, where we inflation was skyrocketing,” Biden said Wednesday at a White House press conference.
The president was reacting to the latest report on the consumer price index, which showed inflation rose at an annualized rate of 4.6 percent in March, the fourth consecutive month in which inflation has exceeded expectations.
Verdict: False.
Inflation was not skyrocketing when Biden took office. When Biden took the oath of office in January of 2021, the consumer price index was up 1.4 percent from a year earlier. The following month it was up 1.7 percent.
The personal consumption expenditure price index, the measure used by the Federal Reserve as the basis for its two percent inflation target, was up 1.6 percent in January 2021 and 1.8 percent in February.

I mean he's not that wrong there. Once he took office it skyrocketed.

Inflation is a lagging indicator. The idea that Trump spending Trillions didn’t help bring on inflation but Biden’s did is insane. Trump & Biden are both responsible for the current inflation and I’m not even sure we have seen the worst of it from Biden’s spending yet.

By your logic, what isn't a lagging indicator?

He shut down keystone and signed enough EO’s to make it clear that the Obama administration was at war with fossil fuel. That was the beginning of the inflation spiral. 1st F’ing thing they did.
So now the simps want to point back to Trump sending stipies for a planned virus warfare. Those that pay attention know the real score.

Joe also said there was no covid vaccine before he took office too.
The MSM ignored that as well.

You don't believe that when fedgov spends 3 trillion extra dollars for fun in, say the 4th quarter of 2020, that the inflation it will cause shows up in the same quarter - you don't believe that, right?

If you were to ask Joe Biden if his administration has made any mistakes that led to higher inflation I am sure he would say that the lobster is ready to be put in the dishwasher.

"For fun"?
Let's all be disingenuous while we deny the shitty job that Joe Biden has done the past 4 years.
Biden still is trying to frick with American inflation.
Student loan forgiveness?
Ukraine?
Unfettered illegal immigration?
Economic theory is really simple when you put pen to paper.
Every policy of the Joe Biden presidency mathematically fricks with the inflation numbers.
And the problem with inflation is that there is no good cure (deflation is worse). Which is why I'm using the word "frick" a lot when describing the problem at hand. He's fricking us in the a-hole.

Who suggested Biden is doing something other than a shitty job?
But we can be big boys and girls and acknowledge that inflation was kicked off under Trump and over Covid, which was as much a scam as anything else. Then Biden came along and poured fuel on the inflation fire.

The economy was on fire when Biden took office, and he decided it was a good idea to throw $2 Trillion worth of gas on it in the form of American Rescue Plan.
There was always going to be inflation following the slowdowns caused by Covid, and the huge amounts of Covid related spending. ARP exacerbated that greatly.

Trump had a legal and moral obligation to send out money with the mandated lock downs.
The problem is that once the lock downs were done, the free checks should have been cut off as well.
Do we need to remind you whose watch that was?

Many act like Trump had a choice in the matter.

One was caused by Democrats and their bullshite.
The other was/is being caused b Democrats and their bullshite.
There's certainly a common denominator.

No, he didn't. I don't see any virtue in taking the knee for Leftists.
Moreover, a shite ton of Covid money had nothing to do with the virus as all. A hundred billion to shore up blue state pensions funds, for example.

The Keystone pipeline was never shut down. It was fully completed in 2010 and brings 550,000 barrels in Cushing, OK every day.

Trump was still for lockdowns.
He was shitting on Kemp for not closing the schools down in Georgia and not mandating businesses closed.
I agree that the lockdowns could have been lifted sooner.
But your timing is off.

Are you purposely being disingenuous or just an idiot? He 10000% shut down the Keystone XL.
