This is because Obama was already spending at elevated levels. Trump just continued Obama's level of spending which is not good enough. We are supposed to be the fiscally responsible party.

My last words on this....

Technically, if you look at Trump's spending increases... they are LOWER increases than under Obama.

So Trump actually was the most fiscally prudent President in the last 20 years. Sorry the truth hurts.

You are part of the problem with your continued excuses.

2017-2018 the GOP controlled the House, Senate, and the Presidency, A prime opportunity to get things done. We got nothing.

Trump spent more per year prior to COVID than Obama.

It took the big O 8 years to surpass Trumps 4.

Anyone who thinks that graph could look much better than it did the first 3 years of Trump's presidency without a MASSIVE concerted effort from all branches of government, has basically no understanding of how our current federal government functions.

That doesn't mean I LIKE how it does, but I still understand the reality of it.

Except Trump wanted more spending in 2019 than even Congress.

You can spread the wealth of blame all you want, but we had a colossal failure in leadership.

He simply misspoke as many do with dementia.
He meant to say, inflation skyrocketed after he took over.

Remind us of all of Trump's spending before covid even existed. Remind us of Trump saying he won't sign anymore spending bills until he did. When it comes to spending there is very little to no difference between Biden and Trump. They both love stimulus. Trump was president for all of 2020. His presidency didn't end in 2019 like you folks try and make it out. Trump & Biden are responsible for the inflation. The idea that Trump spending Trillions is ok but Biden spending Trillions is absurd.

98 percent of elected leadership in Washington DC voted for the 2020 spending. It’s super easy to Monday morning QB. We get it. OMB. You’re an idiot.

Not relevant. We are talking about inflation and who is at fault. 98 percent of Washington is at fault. And if DeSantis had been in Washington he would have voted for it.

I wonder if there's anything else he might have voted for.

Sure it is. The "its the other guys fault" doesnt hold water when your guy wanted more than they were willing to give.

All to boost his re-election which failed.

I never said “it’s the other guys fault”. I said “it’s all of their fault”. Yet you want to focus on trump. You ignore that it was near unanimous cross the country.
