Baton Rouge schools closing for rain. Again. So fricking pathetic.
Listen guys: I know the previous four weather-related school closures were all duds and everyone was angry at the unaccountable school administrators who made such capricious decisions.
But, seriously, this time is DIFFERENT. It’s a matter of life and death. Please be understanding, bro. Just this once. This is some really bad weather we’re talking about.

Not Baton Rouge, but still Louisiana. Bienville Parish schools just sent the closed text. Multiple highways washed out and/or flooded.

Nah the BR Schools did not even acknowledge the Eclipse

Add Natchitoches Parish to the closed list.

When is the last time a school closure in Baton Rouge was actually warranted for anything other than a named tropical storm or the prolonged freeze back in 2021?
I don’t remember one. Cancelling schools for these absolutely standard thunderstorms is ridiculous.

How am I not shocked that this is coming from a Gator who pretended an actual hurricane posed no threat to the FB game? Do we need to move the game from Gainesville? I dunno, but the geniuses in S'Carolina figured it out faster than you idiots. It became pathetic when you blamed us.

I didn't see the text, cause Texas, but can I bet you $10 that it involved "safety of the staff" over two inches of rain?

I am no weatherman by any stretch, but looking at the radar this morning this thing has a long way to go to get to anything that remotely justifies school closures. I could be wrong, but right now everything looks to be no ring primarily from south to north nothing set up as a west to east line like they have been hammering it would be

Close schools for a wind advisory and a little rain? Meanwhile to the East in Texas, Schools are wide open. Louisiana works hard to stay in last place.

Is this the longest thread in TD history?

So when is this bad weather supposed to hit Baton Rouge?
Posted on 4/10/24 at 8:00 am to ell_13
I didn't mean that at you I was just wondering who else was open today.
Posted on 4/10/24 at 8:05 am to OysterPoBoy
Everyone should be open. Soft.

Just got back home from dropping off my son. Light rain and no traffic. Was glorious.
