Yes, McDonald's buildings today look a whole lot nicer than then. Violent crime was higher in the 80s and 90s than today. I'm sure there were tons of fights and stuff at McDonalds. No one but a tiny few had videos of it. Property crime is way lower today than 80s and 90s. According to this data from US Bureau of Justice, violent crime is 75% less today than that era.

Your link does not support your statement. It shows a brief pop in the 90's in violent crime, and shows a near identical murder rate from the 80's to today.
It doesn't address property crime at all.
ETA-
Furthermore, the link isn't to the US "Bureau of Justice" it is to the highly slanted Pew Research Center in a piece designed to convince 2022 midterm voters to not worry about crime as a factor in their voting decisions.

Another Boomer hahaha. Talking about how McDonalds were better then hahaha. No, lol, they simply were McDonalds.
Imagine being stupid enough to think that a 10 year old in 1980 is from the Boomer generation. Idiots like you are what make the rest of us look at today’s youth a a collection of morons.

Should have seen MacDonalds in the 60’s.No frozen fries, they had big sacks of potato’s behind the counter, dump them in a peeler machine and then a device that cut the whole potato into French fries.
Friend of mine did French fries,he always had little burn spots on his arms, few on his face from the hot grease splatters.
No drive through.Hamburgers,15c,fries 15 c,cold drink 15c.Hamburgers were nasty,I got fish sandwiches ,they were 20c.
The fries were cooked in beef tallow back then also.
Anyone who has never had potatoes fried in beef tallow doesn't know what they are missing!

According to this data from US Bureau of Justice, violent crime is 75% less today than that era. A massive downtrend. Everyone has a video camera today. No one did then. So everything gets posted. OTers aren't really capable of thinking that deep.

McDonald’s was still a decent place deep into the 90s. Really into the 2000s. They had a culture shift in the 2000s and switched their focus to catering to black people. Stuff like 365black dot com. Don Thompson got his dumb arse canned but the damage was done.

It was a different country. And a much better country. If you didn’t live it you have no clue how far this country has gone down the shitter in the past 25 years.

No, it’s because the company had a semblance of pride back then and focused more on running a business. The biggest example is a lot of people had their first job at McDonald’s through the early 2000s. You wouldn’t be caught dead working at a McDonald’s in Baton Rouge in the 2020s.
