Are you serious Clark???
Bama gives ZERO FLUCKS about public perception. They just want to win. Something our administration should take a few classes on.
For all the self righteous holier than thou types:
Every school competing in the BIG TWO sports at a high level is guilty and filthy to a significant degree. Some (like bama UNC and others), just drop the facade and go all out to win. Unlike the other hypocritical, pearl clutching schools that don't EVER realize their full athletic potential.

Cal was told that he wouldn't be retained, so they're letting go out as if it was on his own accord.
If UK was going to fire Cal, they would have done it already to get a new HC in with ample time to mine the portal. They were just caught in a tight spot where they wanted to make a change, but the cost of doing so (large buyout) made it prohibitive. UK was keeping him. But as you can see, UK wasn't going to strongly stand in his way if he wanted to leave on his own accord.

He's got boosters / fans up his arse and he's had it with high expectations.
Kentucky is historically one of the best programs in all of college basketball. High expectations are what they SHOULD have. So when your last 4 seasons end in the following manner...
DNQ for NCAA Tournament
Loss to #15 seed in first round as a #2 seed
Loss in second round as a #6 seed
Loss to #14 seed in first round as a #3 seed
the supporters understandably become frustrated.
This isn't just a snap judgment. It was probably overdue. Kentucky fans, by and large, are NOT upset with this move. From Cal's perspective he gets a fresh start at a school with tradition and resources where he can win. He also won't have HUGE expectations for at least a few years.
The bigger question is does the move make sense for Arkansas? It's not like they've sucked over the last few years. Hell, until this season, they repeatedly went MUCH further in the NCAA Tournament than Kentucky. Then again, it appears they were turned down by other guys at much lesser programs. So this may have been the best they could do. Which isn't bad.

They’re nothing alike in play style. Not every good recruiter coaches the same way

Awful take, give Wade the talent Calipari had and you'd have seen likely better results. Wade never had the talent Calipari was able to recruit to Lexington (for that matter almost no programs did). We're talking about a coach who landed multiple 5-stars every year, usually 3-4...and recently also landed many top transfers.

All I hear from Arkansas fan is “Can you believe we got Cal!!!?” They are pumped from what I am hearing locally.
It’s laughable as 2/3 years ago they were talking about how overrated and a POS he was.

Who would you rather have, Cal or McM?

I’m skeptical that cal will have success without McDonald’s AA freshmen all over the roster
He's going to have around $5 million in NIL to recruit. He's not gonna struggle to find talent lol.
Musselman recruited well at Arky. There's nothing stopping Cal.

He can't explain. Neither can the other idiots that repeat that ridiculous mantra about Wade not being a good x/o coach.
This ain't middle school or lesbian basketball. The top coaches recruit TALENT. Then they put that talent in the best position to win. There are overall team concepts, but none of the you cut here you go there BS of yesteryear.
He also has a 226-100 career record. That just SCREAMS that he can't coach.
Some program is gonna hire him soon, and he'll be very successful. And we'll look ridiculous for not standing by him.
