Interesting. That is what I hear from some whites that feel every minority promoted is because of DEI and couldn’t possibly be because of merit or only being admitted to certain colleges because of affirmative action and so on. I guess it’s the climate we’re in. I don’t see it changing.
But to address your comment from my point of view, sometimes things happen so often, often times my initial reaction is to assume the slight was because of race. Sometimes I’m wrong. Sometimes I’m right. Sometimes I’ll never know what the truth was. I’ve learned, many situations aren’t worth getting angry over. Worse things happened to my ancestors.

You guys should check out Jared Taylor from American Renaissance. He is Yale graduate and taught at Harvard on reality of race in United States. Dude gets called racists/white supremacist by anyone who interviews him simply because he advocates for whites the way all other races are advocated for by people of their race. Uses sociological & biological data to support his positions.

You're not wrong. As someone who grew up around black people and HAD many black friends through my life, I have seen this happen.
All the leftist political rhetoric on "systemic racism," "white privilege," "white supremacy," and claiming all who supported/do support Trump--who was elected President by millions of Americans and probably will be again--are "white supremacists... the BLM movement and it's vehemently anti-white agenda... I have never in my lifetime seen it this bad. I guarantee you incidents of black people violently attacking white people is at an all-time high. I have been out in public minding my own business and had young black thugs talk shite to me for being white and "privileged..." My friends that have kids in public school in Mississippi have provided accounts on things their kids have seen and heard at school. I used to have a few very good black friends from law school in New Orleans... about 2015 they all of the sudden started expressing outright anger at white Americans, decrying "white privilege," stating if you were white you were, basically, inherently racist and "privileged" in life... and if you didn't agree with that you were a racist. Some were "pro-black" already but there was an anger that started becoming evident. Even though all of them grew up way better and much more "privileged" than I ever was. They became very angry after Trump was elected and through all the BLM shite and we are no longer friends. It has gotten to the point where, as a (white) person just trying to mind my own business, live my life, provide for my family, going to work and trying to find some happiness in-between all of that... I simply just do not want to be around black people--and all the negative things that come with it-- any more than I have to be, if at all these days. I have never felt that way in my life until these last few years.

I have negative shite happen to me all the fricking time. Alas, I don't have a ready made excuse I can hang my hat on. And, it turns out, the shite happens for like 100 different reasons. Because that's life.

I wave to and have spoken with the wife of my black neighbors. Seems like nice enough people and they do a lot of maintaining their place. Not spoken to the husband and not in any hurry to either: he’s a cop so he is not to be trusted to do anything except look for crimes to make arrests over. Never trust a cop for anything else! Even if they are your siblings!

What you’re saying got Scott Adams cancelled. Welcome to Woke World where you CANNOT WIN!
Scott Adams
What I love about the woke mentally deranged is that they DEMAND CHANGE!!!!
Yet they don’t allow you to change. You get cancelled regardless.

The only racial division I personally witness daily is on MSM and insane leftist. I live in SW Louisiana and my experience may be different than others living elsewhere. A high level of racial division is a narrative put forth by the left. IMHO
This is pretty much my experience as well. Louisiana, with all its issues, is by far one of the least racist states.

where do you see this happening? being suspicious of minority promotions is definitely happening, but that is a bi-product of DEI implementation, not the other way around. where do you see white people saying that minorities "couldnt possibly" be being promoted on merit?

Exactly. I have realized that over the last several years. So, now I just try to keep myself in situations where I don't even have to worry about trying. At least as much as that is possible.

Disagree. Louisiana, even New Orleans, is racist AF. Sure, through casual passing interactions with a lot of black people there, things are fine... but anything more than that when you find out what they really think of you? What they really think of white people in general? What and whom they blame all the ills of their people and their culture on and the ways they wish to see it remedied? It's not pretty.

Damn man. I grew up having bad exchanges with police and really disliked/distrusted them through young adulthood. Then I had friends who became police. Two of them were legit some of the nicest guys you could ever want to know and they didn't really change. Good, solid human beings who would give anyone the shirt off their back. Cops are just like all of us, there is going to be some assholes but most are good people. IMO.

Track record of individuals is the best information I can go by. In those few instances where I feel it has, I have the opportunity to prove through my continued work that I’m worthy of promotion in the future or leave to go somewhere else that I feel I may get a fair shot. Life doesn’t end. There are plenty of employers out there.

I think that DEI is just the reason given for the comments today. Prior to DEI, it was called a woke agenda by corporate. Prior to that the reason was affirmative action. I’ll be honest… I’ve looked at some corporate promotions and thought it.
