Well happens when you are allowed because you "can't be" because you are not a White male.

Race relations are pretty good between most. The media and left wing activists would have you believe otherwise. I do believe in large cities race relations are worse, but that has always been an issue where people live on top of each other.

Them and people from NE should be ignored in the race convo. People who didn't see more than a handful (of even that) of black people for the first decade+ of their lives are telling people from the South about race relations is stupid.

Then they move down to the South as adults and think they are experts on it all.

I was in Harborview (Seattle) ICU and they brought this lady in who was attacked by a pit bull.

Her and her "partner" (who was a male, not a man) couldnt force themselves to tell the cops that the guy who sicced th dog on them was black. They spent several minutes trying to describe him without race.

It’s all perceived due to media and institutional bullshite at large corporations and universities.

I was at the world catfish festival yesterday in Belzoni which was probably 85% black folk attending. Food trucks, live music, alcohol. Had no issue with anyone. Talked to many of them. They were there to enjoy it just like we were

The racial division is mostly fabricated. Sure I’m not gonna wander into south Chicago where there is gang violence but your average black American and white American get along fine

These people are fricking loony and they comment in threads like this as if they are experts on it all. They need to be ignored to the point they finally catch their stupidity.

With the younger generation, however, the anti-white message is finding a home.

I have a friend whose wife is black. He has a foster child who is black. He is always helping out young black men of high school age driving them to sports practice and, quite frankly, wherever they need to go. Not a racist bone in his body. He has seen it all. He says the young blacks are more racist now than ever in his lifetime.

Maybe in your neighborhood or on your street, but not overall IMO.

I like to read comments on Instagram and YouTube. It sounds dumb, but I feel like it gives me a decent idea as to what average people think about things. Also sometimes they’re hilarious.

I don’t get the impression that race relations are anything but the worst I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. Look at the posts about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Or Luka. Or basically any black athlete. They’re buying into the “if you insult a black basketball player you’re racist” narrative as if black people haven’t dominated the sport for 40 years. Probably 20% of the posts are race baiting black people dissing white people. Then half the comments on said post are from apologetic white people, 25% from indifferent/confused/throw it back in their face white people, and 25% from black people in agreement with OP.

We grew up hearing that race shouldnt be noticed. Only character.

These kids are growing up believing if you dont notice race, youre a racist.

I know there are schools like this but is it the vast majority of schools or just a few bad apples?

It's just absurd when someone from a place like Portland with less than 6% blacks tries to pontificate about how awesome their race relations are when 1, they have NO IDEA what living with 30% is like and, they have no idea that the 6% in Portland bear almost zero resemblance to say, the 52% in Savannah, GA.

Most of my encounters are in and out of retail establishments and maybe there is suppressed tension but we hold doors open for one another, nod, speak and such and smile and have a good day.
Same here. Just a couple hours ago in Home Depot, a black man in a nice black suit walked in just before me and I said, “Looking sharp my man,” to which he says, “Thank you brother. Gotta dress it up for church,” and we laughed. I told him “Have a blessed day,” and he says, “Same to you brother.” Just as nice and cordial as we could be to each other.

The older black woman monitoring the self checkout was as sweet and nice as could be and I returned the sentiment.

Fury over Seattle's axing of gifted and talented schools for having too many white students grows,

What’s the percentage of the population that’s white again? Black?

62.2% of seattle’s population is Caucasian. Why only 6.65% identifies as black or African-American.

Pretty sure that has something to do with it. And these people are actually in control of the curriculum and decisions made for students learning. This is egregious.

The amount of white guilt in that room is nauseating.

I started elementary school in a practically all white school in Florida in the mid-80s. We moved to rural northeast Georgia in 87 and the following year I started 2nd grade. It was not the whites who were racist and causing havoc on the playground or in the class room. I never heard the n-word once until my 30s in South Carolina, but I sure found out what the word honkey was in second grade.

The modern racism narrative was started by the Obama administration with use of the media and the Trayvon Martin case. They then proceeded with the kid in St. Louis and on to find one every year. Its all propaganda, and I can only imagine that crime and police data will be held from the public as soon as they can do it.

But the experience is kinda different these days isn't it... Can't explain it, but it is there. Like an knowing of tension, but we are trying a little extra hard to show we have kindness for each other???

Maybe on TV. When’s the last time you visited? Or spoke to someone who lives there and isn’t famous in any sense of the word? Regular people coexist just fine. There’s also very few POC in the PNW.

I just don’t see the tension personally and thankfully in my everyday interactions with black folks. I try to be courtesy and friendly to everyone I meet regardless of race and it’s usually returned.

Now on social media, where blacks are being racist and hypocritical on things, I don’t let that shite slide. Seeing countless videos of black on white violence, looting and robberies can really make me angry and question everything I’m trying to believe about race relations.
