Did I miss where there is any proof the women purposely missed the National Anthem?

Who cares what they think, honestly. Landry is entitled to his opinion. LSU has become a woke university the past decade, while the prominence of the university has declined.

The John Bel Edwards donors serving on the Board of Supervisors removed the name of an American war hero from the library in the name of DEI. It’s beyond time that LSU got called out on the lack of respect for our nation’s traditions and history.

A decision was made internally several years ago to compromise with the anthem protesters by just keeping them in the locker room. The issue was highlighted the other day and it made LSU look terrible on a national stage.

Not sure of the structure but doesn’t the Gov. have authority over the school?
Technically, yes. But money (and votes) talk, so the people of Louisiana have authority over both, and always should. And the people are definitely with LSU right now.

Ignorance is bliss when you're trying to earn political clout. The said thing is, he's only getting started. Does he really think Mulkey would allow her team to play this silly game on a national stage like this?

You sound really stupid. No one refused to stand or disrespected anything.

And even if they did, Landry should meet privately with LSU officials and coaches. No one wins by calling LSU out on national television. It’s moronic.

Contrary to popular belief, Woodward is very political. Most people don't know he was formerly a lobbyist and is tied to the hip with Jim Barhard and the LA State Democratic party. I can only assume that to get the position of President of a University, that person is probably somewhat political as well. I can't speak for Tate's politics, but I think they probably aren't the same as Landry.
This is an issue that Landry didn't need to and shouldn't have gotten into. I also don't think JBE should have been at the Heisman. Governor's from Long on down have used LSU and JBE's influence has been pretty substantial there. LSU and it's budget is very political.

Since most people support LSU Sports, not the Academic side and many don't separate the two. This seems like a horrible decision from Landry. It may have been a shot across the bow of LSU and the influence of many of LA's prominent Democrats, that took on a life of it's own. This is politics 101, never let a crisis go to waste. It does seem like a mistake though.

When was the last time you saw LSU football and basketball (men or women) teams on the field/court during the anthem? I've been going to games since the 80s and don't recall it ever happening. And it's not just LSU.

frick LSU and their woke agenda. Regardless of if this was intentional or not. The people are with LSU?? The people just want something to yap about, good for TD business also. Now you care what Tate is going to respond?? Please defend my LSU athletics bc it helps me pretend everything is ok... Like children that learn nothing.
We've allowed this University to be taken over by commies. Might not be what you want to hear. Without the state funded university, there is no Athletic fund. No one is forcing the kids to do anything. They are free to go play elsewhere. Ya'll put way too much emphasis on sports, bunch of sellouts.

So you have been calling out the football team? Or this one instance because it’s in the news?

If Woody and Tate fight this, they are the lovers.
Staying in the locker room did not help us. The score said we lost. That makes us losers on the court and in public opinion.

Everyone wants to reap the rewards and freedoms this country provides, but frick a moment of silence and reflection for those that secured those freedoms. I get it, let the kids act out...

I would genuinely love to see him try so we could in turn recall him as governor.

In a state that had a Democrat governor for the past eight years, he won the election without even needing to go to a run-off. It's going to take WAY more than that to even get a recall on the ballot, much less actually happen.

Landry's looking for national exposure. Landry pressing to be a 1 and done governor and he’s off to a good start. I didn’t see the the fix interview with Sandra Smith I was wondering if Sandra called him out on other teams the same day not on floor?
