They’re tearing up LSU on TwitterX about leaving the court during the national anthem tonight. Is this just a routine for the team or is this a political statement? LINK

When you are a white successful female coach, they have to tear you down out of jealousy

this is an awfully progressive thing for alleged MAGAist Kim Mulkey to allow her team to do no?

It’s the way the team has always done the Anthem under Mulkey. Nobody had a problem last year.

That’s embarrassing! What’s the explanation for this?

Mulkey has had her teams in the locker room during the anthem going to back to when she was at Baylor.

I’ll let everybody who thinks the world started 20 years ago in on a little secret: The men’s and women’s basketball teams at the PMAC have always been in the locker room during the anthem since the 1970s. At LSU, the anthem is always played somewhere between 8-10 minutes before the game starts. Teams always come out for final warm-ups after the anthem. And, so, that’s probably part of LSU’s pregame routine on the road, too.

In other words, even for someone like me who stands and believes those in attendance for the anthem should stand, this is the biggest fricking nothingburger there is.

I don’t care if we’ve been doing it a hundred years. It’s a bad look and staying and standing for the national anthem means something to fans and to our country. Mulkey should reevaluate this next year.

If it were some other team, this board would be ripping them a new a-hole.

I’m pretty sure this has always been done. If they are trying to say they are disrespecting the anthem that all ended around 2020. I doubt it has anything to do with that.

Kim started doing this to ensure one of her players didn’t show her arse during the anthem. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
