ATL WHs are terrible. Service is awful. Not like the ones you find away from large cities. Those employees probably cost WH more in slow and shitty service

Out of curiosity, why did you make an alt and start this new account as an argue every conservative view imaginable?
Your original account was kinda conservative

How many employees are actually striking? It's hard to find googling. The waffle houses around me in metro atlanta aren't striking, no pickets, still open for business. I have a feeling it's like 14 actual employees and maybe a hundred union shills who don't actually work there.

Regarding the meal credit, that's actually a pretty good deal. Most corporate restaurants I worked at was a 50% discount when on shift, so a 50% discount on an All Star is more than $3 they'd be paying because an All Star is more than $6. Math and such.

If WH is so terrible to work for, go work somewhere else or start your own restaurant.

I went looking and found that typical union dues range from 1-4.5% of wages paid, but one thing that kept popping up was that dues are roughly 2 hours of wages.
According to glass door this says server wages range from $20-$33/hr in LA with a median of $25. That means an average of $50/month if it’s 2 hours of wages.
Glass door Waffle House wages
$50/$3 means union dues would cost you the same as the meal deductions for nearly 17 shifts.
Now, if the workers unionize, I bet the meals for $3 goes away and the entire retail price of the meal will be deducted from the paycheck.
So if the workers unionize. They will still pay the equivalent of 85% of the meal deduction while getting no meals, and then on top have to pay for full meals.
I understand they may get more money per hr, but I doubt they come out ahead finically, at least initially.
Why would you use LA wages for a strike in Georgia.
The average wage for Waffle House in Georgia is around $13. LINK, so union fees would be about half of the $50 you came up with.

WITHOUT telling me you’ve not done this.
you don’t stand with labor, you’re just a pathetic corporate cuck
I like people and take pleasure in making others feel comfortable in my presence, even if they are an uneducated 60’s person w British teeth who is scraping by living in a trailer on the edge of town. Who grabs any shift she can so she can send money to her fam in WV.
And you wanna make it harder for her to work as much as she can even though she accepts the litany of all her and her families mistakes?
Well phuck you.

In the Atlanta area and I heard news radio interviewing a Waffle House employee. This may not be an exact quote but, if not, it is extremely close.
The Waffle House employee said “I’ve lost 193 pounds because I can’t afford groceries.”
I was confused the rest of my drive to work. Still struggling to understand how to comprehend the whole thing.

I think they only have something like 3 floor plans and they’re only slightly different.
Also, isn’t some of the structure built as modular parts and preassembled at a factory and shipped to the restaurant site for final assembly and finishing touches. It is part of the reason why some sites are so narrow.
The nice thing about Waffle House is that if you are on the Mississippi Gulf coast, the Waffle Houses are short spaced a few miles apart. The only bad thing is that each location is elevated while parking is at ground level.

Ok, no knock it down to a union due of $26/month and give them back $60/month for the meal voucher ($3/shift, 20 shifts/month).
Will the workers come out ahead financially trying to fix 20 meals for $34?

it is very true words. I have been at my job for 21 years, and I am the only one at my job that does it. I carved myself a niche. if I were to ever leave, I have a large number of clients I have worked with over the years that I would have a job if i needed it.

Should just make it one free meal per shift.
And unions are dumb. Most of it is people trying to get a manager or coworker in trouble. Then you have the group of people either bitching about people not paying dues or bitching about not being represented because they owe back dues.
