The girl who comes once a week to clean my parent's house charges $125 for a couple hours work. She hits three houses a day, you do the math. I'm about 95% certain she doesn't report any of it either. Not bad for somebody with a high school education and no skills.
Spicy?

I own a vending route and I own a recruiting agency in addition to my sales job. They're all somewhat flexible but require lots of time. I plan on quitting my job or selling the agency before my oldest kid starts high school.

How did you establish this agency and who do you recruit? Athletes? Music artists? You may be able to recruit the next top talent right here on TD.

How did you acquire this route? Where do you buy the sodas and candy bars from? Sam’s Club?

Aluminum and Steel. Go to Home Depot and carve up a car. Instant $800 bucks.
Throw the scrap in the car, and soak it down.

When I used to live in a metro area that had several Home Depots and Walmarts, I would buy clearance items and sell on ebay. Had a lot of help from members on this board with getting proficient at it. Made great pocket change at the time. Now with kids and being 100 miles from the nearest Home Depot, I just do my best to stay employed with my full time job.
I miss the side hustle. If I had another year or two of it, I would've bought a utility van and driven across multiple states to stock up on clearance items to sell. Even if I didn't make much, it was fun being on the road and hunting for items that I was after.

Where is the best place to sell hard to find bourbons? This could be a great side hustle.

$1000-1200 to get your notary.
But the key is, how long does the license last? I didn't graduate from a Louisiana high school, so I can check names and IDs, and if I can spread the notary cost over a few years, no brainer.

I've warned the lawn guy, the maid my ex-family has employed about this for years. Everyone pays them through Venmo, and guess what, Venmo reports it. They all ignored me, but frick it, their problem now.

That's pretty much how it started.

Just a personal warning, recruiters has gone down the shitter in the last 20 years. "Tell me your certifications" (already in the CV) etc.
But the anecdote I always bring up is the recruiter I met at the divorce party of a friend in Austin. She stopped IT recruiting to serve drinks at the dumpy strip club "because it felt more honest."
A recruiter that was cashing in on me in the same period asked why I had a food delivery certification, because she thought Sysco and Cisco were the same thing. You're a tech recruiter!
