Let’s be real and take Joe Alt out of it. I don’t see him getting out of the top 10. For our needs which is LT/LG I think most will list Fashanu as their next proffered but my guy is JC Latham. I’ve just watched so much of his play and he’s huge but still agile and I think he can make the swap from RT to LT rather easily.

1. Alt (will be gone)
2. JC Latham: He will be the best OL of this class.
3. Fashanu: Has 2 years of LT starting experience and all the traits you want.
4. Amarius Mims: The big unknown of the group. Could be an all pro or bust.
5. Graham Barton: Safe choice. You know you’re getting a day 1 starter at T/G.
6. Troy Fautanu: Same as Barton. Safe pick. Starting LG if not LT.
7. Taliese Fuaga: Going to be a Pro Bowl RT or G but not agile enough for LT. .
8. Jordan Morgan: Could end up being a steal to someone early day 2. Is a LT.
9. Tyler Guyton: Like Mims, uber talented but could be boom or bust.

Well you’re right. The Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson might end up being the best OL in this class but Alt is just a bit too tall in his stance for me. I think he might get driven back or have issues with power rushers but he’s got the length you want at LT. I hate Bama but Latham always stood out to me on their OL. He seems to play with that nasty demeanor you like in an OL too. But again, the draft is a crapshoot. The best OL could be in the 7th round this year.

Quite possible that all three of these guys are gone by #14. People continually underestimate the value teams place on high quality LT's in the draft.

I also wouldn't sleep obn Jordan Morgan either. IMO he goes in the first and could go as high as top 20.

Every single draft there are player that go high in the 1st that no one (other that scouting departments) think will go that high, and equally as many "Highly touted" players that drop even out of the 1st round.

There are only 13 spots before us. We know 4 QBs will go by 14 and at least 3 WRs. Add in Alt and that's 8/13 picks without a single defensive player picked OR bowers.

We know nothing.

Like I said every year we think we know and then on draft night we find out we didn't know what we thought we knew.

Players will fall and some will be surprise risera that no one predicted. (No one before the draft that is.) Everyone will claim to have known after the draft.

This is likely. The Saints will have options. Just hope the Saints don’t select a player with an injury history or some major project that needs to be polished.

Yeah but this draft is different. We know 4 QBs will come off in the top 12 picks. That’s Williams, Jayden, Maye and McCarthy. We know Nabers and Harrison at a minimum will come off top 10 as well as Alt because Notre Dame LT and he was pretty good (I thought there were better, particularly Will Campbell). Then you know someone is taking Dallas Turner. That’s 8 spots with Bowers, Odunze, Verse, Latham and Faushanu still there who all could be taken as well. Point is you’re going to have an OL fall, there’s just too many of them. What I’d really love to see would be the Saints maybe dripping back for once in their lives even if it’s just 3-5 picks to grab an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick to bridge that gap between 45 and the 5th round because you know Loomis is going to find a way to get back up into those early day 3 rounds and it would be nice if we didn’t have sacrifice picks from the 2025 draft to do it. This team isn’t 1 player away and if someone like Jacksonville, Cincy or Miami sees a guy that can really help them they want at 14 I’m all for dropping back and taking the BPA in the 20 range of round 1 while getting that extra 2nd or 3rd. This is one of the few drafts you can still find a starting LT at 20 even if it’s that tier down from the top guys. We need to stack young talent on rookie contracts as much as we possibly can because that is our only way out of this continuous cap hell that Loomis puts us in.

If all the OTs are gone, we'll basically have our pick of the litter of the elite defensive talent. One of the CBs or an edge (Turner, Verse). Or maybe Bowers. Or that DI from Texas.

We just need to sit back and draft BPA. Major talent will be there at 14. Reaching for an OL or trading up b/c there is an OL run is terrible strategy.

*ETA: yeah if someone wants to give us a 2nd for moving back a few spots that would be ideal. I think we don't want to be much past 18 though.

4 QBs
3 WRs
1 Alt
1 Dallas Turner
1 Bowers

The way I see it. Then 3 go off the board before us

Guys

(5)OL Fuaga, Fashanu, Latham, Mims, Fuatu

(3)CB Quinyon, Arnold, Wiggins

(3)DL Verse, Latu, Murphy

That’s at least 11 guys we would seemingly be happy taking. Also guys who teams could trade up for

Brian Thomas, Dejean, Powers Johnson, Guyton are all wild cards and I wouldn’t be shocked for them to be in play for someone in the top 15. The Saints will have a lot of options one way or another

Agree 100%.

We also have a need at CB (presumably), DI, and edge, so if we go there it's not even like we're ignoring needs.

Also, if Bowers somehow falls he's a luxury but worth it.

Latu’s medicals and the fact that he never has put his hand in the dirt just scream Zach Baun to me. The guy is more talented than Baun but we are a 4 DL team. That edge has to be able to play with his hand in the dirt so I would take him out. Verse is still an option though but I would argue with Chase Young on board that using the pick on Byron Murphy from Texas to strengthen the interior DL would be of better use. Murphy and Bresee could make an exciting combo at DT. Then go find a nose tackle for run downs like Jordan Jefferson in the 5th.

I would worry about moving a young man who played RT in college to LT at the pro level right off the bat. Might be setting him up for failure.

I don’t follow Alabama closely. For those who do, why did he not play LT in college?

I was looking at this pretty hard this am.

Granderson, Young, Murphy, and Bresee as a 3rd down 4-man package could be terrifying

Depends on whether we decide on a LT or RT. I would think we lean LT. Latham is not a LT but more of a pure RT.

Latham and Fashanu at 14.

Like a bunch in 2nd round as guards or future tackles.
Guyton, Barton, Fuaga etc.
