"Is this the Fred's on the river?"
"Yes."
No, Freds Tigerland and Freds on the River are two totally different locations. The fight was at Tigerland near campus.

I watched a dude make a running super punch to the back of Johnny Knoxville’s head at Bogies. That place is wild.

In the late '70s, I hung out at Faps, the predecessor of Fred's. I don't remember any fights that resulted in serious injuries. In fact, I don't remember a lot of fights even happening. Times change.
There's a direct correlation between today's violence and sick videos on social media (the knockout game), that has desensitized people and made this behavior the norm.
The whole "disrespect" attitude to justify the horrific violence perpetrated on others is disgusting.
Culture.

chances are the bar bro's that are like "WTF YOU GONNA DO BRO HUH?" and other obnoxious sayings, are not good fighters, full of pride and will get knocked out instantly.
i have been in many situations like this at the bar (mainly messing with my gf or her friends) and me and my friends just tell them to walk away and most of the time they do.
Others that are more prideful and try to start stuff (which is very very rare)...usually get met with my big group of baws and they cower away

LSU seems to have more of these issues than other large campuses. I wonder just how many of these altercations are actual students?
With the lawyers and court system these days, it makes absolute zero sense to start a fight or throw punches.
If you survive the fight, odds are you will be financially ruined for years after the fight. The attorneys are seeking out these brutal fights and destroying the aggressor.
Finally, it is usually the smaller, silent type that is minding his own business that catches the initial heat. It is that guy that is usually a trained and in shape fighter that can destroy an average opponent.
I watched a 160 pound guy destroy a 220 pound guy after the 220 pound guy threw the first punch. It was brutal the level of beat down the 160 pounder dished out to big boy.

ne of my good friends was around 160, and his frat would sent him to fight anyone who had a girl at the bar that someone fancied, so they'd both get kicked out, and leave the girl by herself.
So he was just big? If he was in a frat I doubt he could really fight. He just had a bunch of idiots who were willing to jump in if he was getting beat up.

Or you just hear about LSU ones because you read an LSU website and/or live in Baton Rouge

Do they? Or are you just not hearing about them? LSU's student base is not all that different from college guys at Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Ohio St, Michigan, Arizona, etc, etc, etc. It's not like LSU has a monopoly on drunk 18-23 year olds in college. I've seen brawls at college bars in many towns. It just that I'[m not scanning Iowa St. fan message boards every day, or reading news websites in Columbus, OH to get wind of anything that happens there. College bar fights are not unique to LSU.

Are you hanging out at the Double Duce?
The majority of these fights start in the same manner. Some drunk a-hole in the bar bumps into another drunk a-hole, or looks at said a-hole "menacingly". Words are then exchanged. Drunk friends on both sides come in. Some trying to diffuse the situation. Others inflaming it. A punch gets thrown by someone in the group and mayhem ensues. The music stops. Bouncers come flying in. Everyone looks around because they know what is happening. Eventually the groups get thrown out into the parking lot. Sometimes it heats back up before or until the police arrive.
Rarely have I seen some little, but deadly badass just quietly minding his own business when a guy starts a fight with him for no reason.

Let's focus on Baton Rouge crime, overall
Yeah, I was going to tiger park to watch a HS softball game. If there is no traffic on the road it would take me 25-30 mins to get to LSU.. Saturday it took over an hour because evidently someone shot someone else.. I assume on the interstate, near Memorial stadium and that backed traffic up all the way to the intercoastal bridge.
As if there needs to be something else to impact traffic. I don't care if they want to shoot each other, but when you impact other people's day then thats a problem.

Kip Holden
The number of murders in the highest year under Holden (minus 2007, which you can maybe blame on Katrina people from New Orleans coming back to La and moving to BR) was lower than SWB's lowest year of murders. What would Kip Holden have to do with anything?

size does not mean shite in a fight and it never will.
I am 6' 3" weighing 230 lbs and i don't mess with anyone because there's always a bigger fish
