Also for those asking about if police were present

Plays a role. But not sure how it would take self defense or stand your ground off the table just by the action of waiting
Again, that will need to come out from an investigation.
Now, how can one stand their ground after being asked to leave?

There's a fight every weekend in Tigerland. I watched a kid last semester get knocked out and fall right onto a curb, I thought he was gonna be a vegetable. He hit the curb so hard. It was a matter of time before it resulted in a death. Sad stuff

That's plausible.

I’ve never played on a worse course in my life. It’s god awful, but I’ve never met anyone that plays that tournament seriously. It’s just a good day to have with the boys.
Maybe so but there was no alcohol allowed at the tournament.
Just to add to how bad that course is. Roll a golf ball across asphalt. That’s what putting was like.

its just not worth it to get in a bar fight.
For many reasons.
Reason number 1: its trashy as frick to just start a fight. i get it if you are defending yourself but to just start one is trash.
Reason number 2: Lawyers defending said person who got severely injured by you will do everything in their power to burn you to the ground.
Reason number 3: you never know who knows mma, boxing, or BJJ and will make a complete fool out of you.

Kiran said ‘one punch’ but the person in this thread that supposedly talked to the family said something about a ‘curb stomping’ We should probably wait til all the facts are released to start breaking down this incident. Small chance, I know

I would think, key word think, Kira’s talked to neutral bystanders/Fred’s employees
So not bulletproof as witnesses are often wrong, but I would lean to her version for now

Let's lean toward video evidence. Hope whomever did this is held responsible if they broke the law.

In the late '70s, I hung out at Faps, the predecessor of Fred's. I don't remember any fights that resulted in serious injuries. In fact, I don't remember a lot of fights even happening. Times change.

I saw Tiger Land bar fights that I thought for sure would end in serious injury and jail time. Head stomping, cheap shots to the back of head, etc. Absurd how many fights used to go on around there in the late 90s early 2000s.
Sad to hear it hasn't changed much.
It is so stupid and immature to get into a fight that you have the opportunity to avoid. Just leave. Nothing good will come from it.

Where are you supposed to wait for a ride if you get kicked out of a bar?

If I'm in a scuffle or heated argument in a bar and want to avoid further escalation as I wait for an Uber I walk 50 yards to stand in front of a different bar to call an Uber.

Buddy of mine decided to pick a fight with a dude minding his own business about 30 years ago. Dude was a golden glove boxer. My buddy kept harassing the dude and he finally had enough. He put about 6/7 shots to my buddies face it 2-3 seconds. Looked like he had a football implanted in the side of his face. He never fricked with anyone in a bar again.

Given Kira’s history of reporting in BR, she gets the benefit of the doubt from me until proven wrong. She was a pretty solid. Easily the most trusted reporter in BR.

I have a good story like that except the boxer was one of the guys in my group. A friend of a Friend. Long story short, your typical loudmouth bar bro mistook my buddy's quiet nature for weakness. He found out.

This is reason #1 for me. I watched a guy pick a fight against a smaller guy competing over the same woman at a bar once. Smaller guy had lots of MMA training. Got the bigger guy to the ground and started dropping forearms and elbows on his face/head. Big guy left the scene with a shattered eye socket. Small guy left the scene and went to jail for awhile.
Getting in a fight with random people is so dumb. Not sure what good comes from it other than bragging rights that no one gives a shite about.
