That only counts when fighters have equal skill. I bet there are a few 250# in-shape guys on here who think they could take out Sean O'Malley because they have 100 pounds on his walk-around weight. Suga would flip their light switch in seconds.
The difference in skill in a bar fight is likely never as disparate as a regular guy and a Bantamweight MMA champion but technique and training make up for a huge weight difference. That being said most bar fights are won on initiative and aggression.

Hammertime says to check a man’s knuckles before you fight them. I, on the other hand, check their ears for cauliflower.

Exactly, a smaller trained fighter will beat the shite out of a someone that is not trained regardless of size. When I was in college fewer people were training and now it’s not uncommon. It really should be the last resort when there’s no other choice. Your life is more valuable than your pride.

Now the dudes dead. Y’all realize that the history of fighting at Fred’s will be used to prove their complicity in this and will ultimately be a rallying point to shut it down.

LSU's student base is not all that different from college guys at Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Ohio St, Michigan, Arizona, etc, etc, etc. It's not like LSU has a monopoly on drunk 18-23 year olds in college. I've seen brawls at college bars in many towns. It just that I'[m not scanning Iowa St. fan message boards every day, or reading news websites in Columbus, OH to get wind of anything that happens there. College bar fights are not unique to LSU.
The non-student population of Baton Rouge is very, very different than the cities of those other campuses you mentioned.

1 on 1 it means a frickload. There's a reason for professional weight classes.
That is true, but that's because they are all trained fighters competing in a sport with rules. On the streets someone smaller and faster can absolutely beat someone who is big and slow.
In football you will see a RB and WR pick up a block and on a linemen and completely own him. When it happens the lineman usually doesn't pick it up right away and isn't prepared for it, but you get a cock strong dude who is fast.. He can absolutely beat up some big brute. If you hit someone in the right spot, sometimes it just takes one hit for someone to be wabbly.

When i went with my daughter to get her car at the tow lot under the Mississippi River bridge, the officer and I started talking about Tigerland. He was probably in his early 30s. He said they pay them extra hourly to police Tigerland. He said “good money” (his words) but he and buddies won’t do it. He said “and I have a family to support. But nothing good happens after 1am over there. I just won’t do it.”
So they don’t want to be there even with the extra pay, and according to my son, the one or 2 who are there just hang back. They don’t get involved until after something happens. I don’t think they prevent anything from happening.

Not all money is good money. The ones who take the Tigerland money are asking for trouble.
