They do not. I have one with a 33 and one with a 35. They didn’t get shite but a little extra over TOPS. One went away and got full ride. While Bama is raking in all the smart kids with scholarships.

Neither will stay in LA for work.

Laugh all you want, but LSU was the only one to my knowledge "honoring the death of George Floyd"

quote:

?We honor the life of George Floyd ?
?Tiger Stadium was lit on Monday night in Floyd’s high school colors, Crimson and Gold. ?
?Black. Lives. Matter.

Yet, they haven't done jackshit about the deaths of the two girls who were murdered in the shadows of the campus.

Every school seems to prefer the more lucrative out of state students
How is it lucrative if the out of state kid is given a full ride or a huge amount of scholarship dollars?

I graduated high school in Louisiana back in the 1990s. Got over 1400 on the SAT and over 30 on the ACT. I don't recall LSU recruiting me at all. They may have sent me a letter.

I had the same experience with my kid. LSU doesn't care about in state kids.

It looks like that on paper but isn't factual. If you get the in state tuition rate and the top tier of TOPs it usually pays out and covers more.

Also,my newphew got a 32 and LSU threw money at him on top of full TOPs but they didn't start offering anything serious until his junior year. Texas A&M and Georgia Tech threw money at him but he still came out way ahead @LSU with TOPS and a small scholarship.

He's a white kid from a Catholic school near Lafayette.

the only SEC schools he should consider are Vanderbilt, UT & maybe UGA

A&M and Florida engineering programs are ranked above UGA.

Too soon for LSU.

It likely won’t matter. LSU is not generous to in state students. With his metrics he’ll probably get more money to go to a higher ranked school.

They don’t give a shite about the best and brightest. Years ago the head of LSu’s honors program took his daughter to visit Al. His response - LSU is years and years behind.

Raise the minimum to 30 ACT. Send the rest to ULL, SeLa, etc.
have a 4 tier system. ASU , tier 2 and 3 then community/trade schools. Stop trying to be everything for everyone everywhere in Louisiana. It is failing.

They target more out of state students so they can make 3-4 times the money off of them.

Kids with scores like that cost lsu money. They aren’t trying to recruit students that they have to pay.

I remember getting a check from lsu every semester and not appreciating it. Every time I talk to someone paying off tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in student debt I am grateful for my time at lsu.

LSUs enrollment would plummet if this was the criteria. Louisiana highschool and elementary education is nowhere near good enough to supply a state flagship with 20,000 30+ ACT students.

Couldn’t think of a worst investment than paying full OOS costs to attend LSU.

Check the cost of out of state tuition and compare it to in state.
I didn’t receive a scholarship offer from LSU but did receive one from Ole Miss and Mississippi State. I still paid a lot less attending LSU.
