Dangerous home shop tools

I don’t know statically what the answer is, but using an angle grinder always worries me. I’m just a weekend warrior. I always expect to lose a finger or be impaled by a loose cut off wheel. I imagine table saws get a few fingers for trophies as well.

My home shop ain’t big enough for chainsaw work. I guess even shops are bigger in Texas.

Ive got a 36" Craftsmen wood lathe that is posessed by Satan and craves blood.

I just propped a ladder inside the attic, up the chimney against the exterior to get to a spot a woodpecker drilled through. I can't decide if it was an intelligent problem solved or full on stupid.

Angle grinder with a cut off wheel. I’ve taken more than one person to the hospital because the wheel came apart. One took 1/3rd of one to the nutsack and had to get stitches.

I feel like there's a difference between how inherently dangerous a tool is and how dangerous a tool can be if used improperly in certain ways.

I have recurring nightmares about my Milwaukee Sawzall.

Knew a guy that died when working on a snow mobile drive belt.

Routers and table saws have to be the top 2

Hate it when drilling a hole in steel and the bit grabs as it's about to go through and the torque of the drill twist your wrist.

I was thinking, step ladder used improperly, probably the leading cause of serious accidents.

I have all three and tgey all give me pause, but the one that actually scares me is the chain saw. I hate using that thing. I've seen horrific injuries caused by chain saws

I used the chainsaw attachment deal for the angle grinder twice. I hated it, so I clamped it in my shop vise and whacked it with a hammer until a few teeth broke, then threw it away.
That was a while before seeing Stumpy Nubs damn near lose half his hand from the same attachment. Those things are dangerous as a rattle snake.

Table saws are okay if you set them up right and take time with your setups. Using push sticks and other helpers takes away some of the danger, too. The number one thing, though, is understanding kickback.
Freehand routing with a big 1hp+ router always makes me nervous.
