Best place to catch the eclipse in the Dallas area?

I know I could just stand outside anywhere just east of Dallas, but are there any planned viewing events that seem worthwhile? Thanks.

It is the fricking sun. Just go anywhere and......look up.
ETA: My apologies for being so crass on such a nice Thursday morning.

Why do we have more eclipses now than we used to? I have been on this earth over 40 years and have seen 4 eclipses if count this one. The last 2 were only a few years apart. It also coincides with time moving faster (which I don't think anyone can argue has been happening since 2012). Are we spinning faster?

OP, I’m looking for the same info. I did find a little town festival thing in New Boston, TX. Hoping to spend Sunday night in Shreveport, and, if we are still alive, to drive over there for the midday festivities.
I can tell you that I looked for hotels in Tyler and found exactly one room available. A Motel 6 for $500.

We will get about 98% totality here in Granbury, so I'll drive about 30 miles east to Cleburne to get 100%.

There are hundreds of events in DFW from the Cotton Bowl to Samuel Grand Park to all the rooftop bars and restaurants. What I've been told by friends who went to Oregon for the eclipse a few years ago is to find a spot where you can see the horizons. Apparently the lighting on the horizons is as spectacular as the actual eclipse.

Best place is to find yourself a nook outside the city with an ice chest and a grill.
(Not sharing mine though lol)

A total eclipse is on my dad’s bucket list, so they are going. They got a hotel room last year, and they were already hard to come by. If you don’t have something already, you probably aren’t going to find anything.

Intersection of MLK Blvd and Malcolm X Blvd southeast of downtown Dallas will be a good place to set up shop for the eclipse.
