This isn’t high school. It takes a freak athlete to play two sports in college, especially one like lsu. Most guys want to focus on one sport to have a shot at going pro.

First it’s hard as hell to do especially at top tier Division 1 athletics. Secondly many kids now are specializing in one sport at an early age, playing and training for it year round.

Spencer Ware was after those you mentioned. Nick Storz played baseball and football at LSU, but football was after his arm blew up and could no longer pitch I believe.

Maurice Hampton, Jr. played both football and baseball before transferring.

Seasons continue to get longer and overlap.

Because not many kids are playing 2 sports at major schools.

We have probably had more than others especially once you count track

I'll suggest that:
- At LSU, we're competing at a really high level so it will take a special talent to play multiple sports.
- Some coaches don't like to share.
- The respective overlap between sport seasons militates against it.

Kary Vincent Jr. is the last one I remember. Was pretty fast on the track. Ran a 10.07 if I remember correctly.

This has gone on long enough.

Mike Miley - GOAT2

Think he was a first rd MLB pick by the Angels and a pretty good QB as well.

2 sport athletes, "cross-training" was a big marketing push in the 90s:

Bo Jackson
Michael Jordan
Deion Sanders

For whatever reason, Nike stopped promoting two sport athletes... trickled down to college

At the high school level coaches typically don’t share athletes but rather fight over them.

You do see a lot of football players in track to primarily keep them in shape and academically eligible for fall ball.

Baseball & football stars are rare and elite talents without a skill overlap.
