Paul Pierce: Zion and Ingram have more to prove than anyone in the Western Conference... Zion had to prove that he would be healthy... Ingram is trying to prove that he is one of the stars in this league. I think they're playing with an edge.

We went from nobody talking about the Pels to everybody picking the same week to come out and say nobody is talking about the Pels

I wish these media idiots would at least admit they were wrong about Zion

Perk also said we are his sleeper to come out of the West.

I don’t like it.

I'm not that concerned about a jinx in this case. It feels like well earned coverage and they are rightly overcompensating for neglecting to cover the team earlier based on its untrustworthy past. With ESPN it's pretty obvious that the Pels made the talking points in the weekly meeting on what stories to push. Everyone over there has talked them up this week.

It definitely feels like an overcompensation.

We are playing great and demolishing bad and mediocre teams, and keeping with (for the most part) good teams.

We are a good team now, and getting better. I don't think we are team that can get to or win a WCF, though.

Not sure if we are overrated or underrated but we are certainly getting rated right about now.

The media has talked about us in waves this season. Leading up to the In Season Tournament they were hyping us up and then we got spanked by Lakers. Then before Allstar break the media was hyping us up and then we had a big loss. Now over the last three weeks we've played and beat shite teams and we are getting hype from the media.. Once we play a good team, full strength, we may lose and the hype will die down.

Maybe with raised national publicity we will get more favorable calls?

To be fair, hasn't he been saying this all season?

Bingoooo

You do not want to go into the playoffs as the "aw shucks, just happy to be here!" small market team

Especially if you're matched up with an ESPN wet dream like Harden/Kawhi/George or Durant/Booker/Beal

You think we would get more favorable calls than Harden/Kawhi/PlayoffP

In a 7 game series I think we can beat anyone and I don't think anyone is looking at us as an easy win either. We have everything in place. We play good defense, we can shoot, we have stars, we have probably the deepest bench in the league. What's not to like?

I agree with all this but lets not act like we don’t have some flaws. Zion has no playoff experience and BI has played in one series. We also don’t have a great record in close games. Basically, I think we can beat anyone in a 7 game series but it also wouldn’t surprise me if we lost in the first round. The key to me will be how Zion responds in the playoffs.

Pels are still
+6500 to win the title and +3000 to win the wcf...why not?

What does our shortened lineup look like in the playoffs?

Starters-

Zion
CJ
BI
Herb
JV

Key subs -

GTA
Murphy
Nance?
Dyson (if back)?
Naji?

We have a very good crew and are pretty deep but we have to probably pick and choose our bench guys based off each matchup.

Team needs to not eat the cheese.

Regardless of who the talking heads are trying to pump up this week, there are still a lot of current "faces of the league" that don't respect this team and have said it in public (Butler, Draymond, etc). Rather they use that as motivation.

currently a 60% chance that the pels' 1st round opponent will be the clippers (25% home/35% away)

they and the mavs the only top 6 teams in the west that cannot dominate the pels inside (zubac/theis and a plumlee) and the chances that the pels play the mavs in round 1 are basically zero.

i disagree that pels "can" beat anyone in a series, but i very much like their odds in round 1
