Who is going to be the NIL benefactor for the LSU men's basketball program?

LINK
If this is accurate, we have little to no chance of being competitive in today's market.

The going rate for an elite point guard in the transfer portal is between $200K-$400K.

It would have helped if we had a HC that bankrolled his own roster, oh wait…

McMahon is going to have to find the really good players that a lot of other teams dont think are very good

250k...for a point guard.. not too bad...what's that like 1 or 2 big rig cases avg for Gordon.. less Jello-Shots in Omaha.. that bar is doing fine on it's own...and boom...we're there...we might get closer to a top 300k one.....surely we can get this Done

LSU needs a big personality as coach to get fan and donor support. McMahon seems like a good coach, but he is not the big personality and promoter that LSU as a non-basketball school may require to generate the excitement and money.

Kind of crazy how LSU was able to get some decent talent here before, but now all of a sudden we can't. I wonder why that is.

You guys remember when we had an elite recruiter?
I know I’ll be called a Wade nut hugger or whatever the cool term is today but all I know is …
One guy has his team in the NCAA tournament in year one and the other guy doesn’t in year two.

Especially when we have a coach that doesn’t believe in scaling NIL payments. He prefers the socialistic approach.

At least we now know the next excuse TPK has for MM.
I guess it's going to be hard to keep using depth and the players being tired as an excuse.

Ott has said on radio multiple times McMahon has turned down support from boosters. This guy doesn't have a clue what he needs to actually win at LSU on any type of a consistent basis.

Wade wasn't bankrolling everyone on his own nickel. There's money out there to support the basketball program. Granted, not as much as there is for football. But you also don't need as much either.
I have a hard time believing that is true. McMahon hasn't killed it on the recruiting trail. But I seriously doubt he doesn't know "how the sausage is made" in college basketball.

To the tune of potentially a million or more payroll every year? Plus the same donors chipping in for a new arena, coaches contracts, football players, WBB players, and baseball players.

UM transfer point guard in the link has "loyalty" tattooed on his arm

If you look at how he's come up in the biz it makes sense. Before he got here he only had one year as an assistant at a major college. App st, UNC-Wilmington, and Murray weren't doing a lot of big time recruiting battles.

Big $ donors aren't gonna throw more money around because of a coaches "big personality". The reason they have big money is they aren't so frivolous to spend on somebody's personality. LSU's donors spend elsewhere within the athletic dept

If they're gonna put up that much money for an arena why wouldn't they want to put a good team in it?

And a big personality is needed to sell them on spending on men's basketball.

For every shaq-a-roni sold 1 penny will fund the Basketball collective.
