Sure we aren’t last year’s team but one swallow doesn’t make a spring. A little patience please. We’ll get it done just you watch.

Don’t feel like I have melted this weekend, but a valid point for the melters would be that we needed a good start this weekend because the next three weekends are loaded against top 10 teams.

Probably just the manner in which it happened

-game 1 take a lead then get completely stifled for 6 innings by a true freshman
-game 2 jump out to a 9-1 lead then bats go silent again and nearly blow the game
-game 3 Hurd gets shelled, turns it around a bit and we come back to tie, then shelled again. Then coaches bullpen choices had some scratching their heads

There are a lot of low baseball IQ people that apply football season logic to baseball season and think that one loss ends your season.

It happens every year.

There will be a second wave during the SEC tournament that think if you dont mow through Hoover and win the entire thing, that you have no shot at even making a regional.

Im not glossing over how this team played this weekend by any means. It was bad and there is a lot of room for improvement. That being said, we went to arguably the toughest place in the SEC outside of The Box on the first weekend of SEC play, played just about as bad as we could, and still took a game.

I am confident that Jay will figure it out.

People do not know how to properly set expectations, despite knowing the OOC is not real. They get fooled by it every year

MSU isn’t supposed to be our toughest opponent

Pitching is supposed to be our strength and they scored 33 runs in 36 inning

Because we looked like shite in every phase of the game.

Especially pitching. Which was supposed to be our biggest strength.

Because a large portion of the fan base is impatient trash who derive their sense of self and meaning from LSU teams.

Hey! I know where that comes from! This is what Aristotle actually said...not "We are what we repeatedly do..." that was William Durant's paraphrase

Because it’s the loud minority that spam the boards anytime there’s something negative to speak about. The majority of LSU Baseball fans know it’s the 1st SEC series and on the road. There’s 27 SEC games left to improve.

Had we only lost these 2 games by 1 or 2 runs I wouldn’t be that worried. But we got our asses handed to us. And all of our pitchers were getting blasted to all parts of the field. Hopefully state is just hitting on all cylinders and this weekend was more of an anomaly than what’s to be expected for the rest of the regular season.

This team just needs to be somewhere around .500 after the first half of the league schedule. They’ll make their run in the 2nd half of the schedule.

The team was embarrassed by Mississippi State. It’s ok to admit that. I haven’t given up on the team. By exposing weaknesses, it gives you opportunities for improvement. I believe the team will get much better.
