HK (P30, VP9, USP, MK23)
Sig (365, 320, 229, 226)
Glock (17, 19, 43, 48)
Then a gap
Canik
Springfield
PSA’s Dagger line
S&W
Top 3 are in order, last 4 are an interchangeable.
PSA in general is doing the most to get as many guns into civilian hands as possible and that makes them truly admirable.
Edit to say: CZ, FN, Stacatto and others make fantastic handguns. But they fall out of popularity in the US market pretty quick. I just see the most of the top three and it ramps down in popularity pretty quickly after that.

I've been a glock proponent for a long time. I have others I shoot a lot. But I only carry a glock.
Having said that, the SAR9 yall got me to buy are great guns.

Probably my top 4 without much debate even though I'm not a Glock guy, I respect their reliability.
#5 is probably between S&W, Springfield, Walther. I tend to like a lot of Walthers.
I don't have much experience with FN or Kimber.

Hi Pernt
My Hi point has been submersed in water after a flood. I cleaned it 2 or 3 days later. It's never hung up, FTF, FTE or anything.
To go back to the thread discussion. I have a HK VP9 and a gen 1 Shield. I can shoot the Hi Point better than either of the above and that's not bull shite.

Lost out to Sig for the new military contract and have steadily lost market share over last decade for law enforcement. That said, still great handguns. The Sig scored better for its modularity.
Honestly, can't go wrong with either.
That said, I'm completely in love with Staccato. Just got a new CS last Thursday. It's pricy but compact, great look, easy manipulation, accurate and just feels great.

Lemme hop in.
In a few years, PSA dagger might chew a sizable chunk from the Glock market share.
Truck guns err’whuur.

No argument from me, they're just a glock clone though. The blueprint is there, as long as they don't try to "tighten" them up they'll probably be fine.
Glocks are just the "aks" of the pistol world. Doesn't mean others aren't good. They're probably some that are better. It's just for me and mine, we all have glocks. The wife carried a Springfield for a long time until she got a 17.
I just picked one of the more desirable attributes in a pistol to make my list....lol
Our next pistols will be a FN 502 and glock 43x mos.
