Is it worth for my sister-in-law to go to Disney/Universal who has high blood pressure?

My sister in law really wants to go with us to Disney/Universal but she has high blood pressure and she is worried about not being able to ride a lot of the good rides for all the money the tickets cost. She is walking everyday and taking her high blood pressure medicine everyday. Do you think it’s worth for her to go?

She's not really there for the rides, I'm assuming she's there for your kids. It's easy to avoid high intensity rides. She can get ice cream for the kids while everyone else is on Tower of Terror, etc.
Disney is for sure not worth it for an adult. Adult admission is only to be around kids/grandkids, unless you're going to the food and wine festival at Epcot. To me, still not worth it, but to each their own.
If you aren't aware, what qualifies as HBP has been defined down from over 200ish to 120. I'm not trying to be offensive here, but she sounds like a bit of a worry wart. I assume there will be consistent whining from the S-I-L.
Maybe when you go to a park more "adventurous" than Magic Kingdom, she gets a spa or pool day or something?

It was my wife’s first time going last summer as well as my son but my wife’s twin sister has never been before. She wanted to get on the same rides we got on and she said she really would like to ride guardians of the galaxy but she is nervous about it. I told her just talk to her doctor but was just wondering if anybody else has experience with that.

Here is the ride. She can show it to her doc. If she's nervous about it, she should wait outside. The doctor could tell her it's completely fine, but ultimately the choice is up to your SIL. I didn't seen anything as violent as Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom (which wasn't violent at all, I just hated it.)
Her doctor knows if there are other complicating factors which may make her more vulnerable to stroke, aneurism, or something else. More people have been killed on Boeing planes than have been killed at any amusement park recently. Tell her to ask her doctor, not you. Again, her anxiety is coming across pretty heavy, which will usually create problems that impede on your enjoyment of the trip.
My ex wife sustained essentially a low grade concussion (can't remember if it was Tower of Terror or the Aerosmith ride.) Injury is possible.

I don't think any thing you can't ride with hbp. I have hbp and will ride everything but mission space.

I didn’t know this was even a thing. I have high blood pressure and do all kinds of radical crap.
I’m sure she will be fine.

I'll say two things about this but in short, she can still enjoy herself on the trip and never set foot into either park.
1 - defer any clinical conversations to her PCP
2 - She can still have fun on a Universal and Disney trip without ever stepping foot in the parks.

Get her a scooter and she can hang with all the other fatties.

An ECV has nothing to do with riding attractions.

Is this a joke? About Half of American adults have high blood pressure, so there will be thousands of other people with high blood pressure at Disney at same time. Blood pressure will probably be low with all the walking and sweating.

all the newer disney rides are pretty smooth
stay away from older coasters like Space Mountain
Do not ride the Hulk at Universal
still plenty to do at both parks even if you skip some of the more risky rides, just read the warnings before getting on if you are that concerned

You can even download the app (if you haven't already) and they have the warnings for each ride listed.

Get her doc to prescribe some Xanax or Clonopin. Get enough to share. Being around all of those animals in the handicap scooters with their roasted turkey legs is stressful enough.

Have you been to Disney? I’d be willing to bet that 60-70% of the adults there have HBP, and 95% of the scooter riders munching on their turkey leg. She will be fine unless she’s had a brain bleed or aneurysm.

They give those high blood pressure warnings before the rides just to cover their arse. Unless her blood pressure is so high that she is going to have a stroke at any moment, she will be fine.

She can have a nice time and not step on a ride.

Universal is cool enough for just the theming

Disney is wonderful, even if you don’t ride the big rides. I wouldn’t hesitate going to Disney if I couldn’t ride big rides.
I wouldn’t mind going to universal, but I think universal is a bit more ride-oriented. I would definitely choose Disney over universal if I couldn’t ride. Still, I wouldn’t be disappointed at universal.
