Some unofficial casualty and injury reports out of Ohio and Indiana are sad. Lots of people “missing.” Winchester has an ”all able bodies” request out to the public.

New warning out in Arkansas.

Tonight has sucked. Trapped in a tiny closet with 4 crying scared kids as it went over our house. Didn’t drop down ever. We are in west Little Rock right in the path. Didn’t even knock my plants over but the sounds were eerie.

Yes sir. So much to be grateful for. It seems we have more coming tonight. I’ll be sleeping lightly, I’m sure.

I know what that experience is like and I’m sorry you went through it tonight. Very good to hear you’re all safe, though.

Just blew through here with a hellish front. My son is supposed to be flying tonight I can’t imagine the training op wasn’t cancelled. If they started it most likely they had to sit their bird down somewhere and wait this shite out.

That shite we had earlier wasn't playing

Glad we dodged the bad stuff tonight (regardless of any injury my personal life may cause me to sustain in the coming days)

You could have said the tornado must’ve blown them in there!

I really don't know WTH it means, if you want me to take cover then drop a tornado warning or at least tell me to take cover in the severe thunderstorm warning (maybe they do?)

They do that sometimes when you have a line of storms (or a segment of a line) that is capable of producing quick spin-up tornadoes, which are hard to issue a tornado warning for.

There has also been a push to not issue as many tornado warnings if they're not necessary in order to keep the public from not taking them seriously.

Yep, exactly. With how difficult and uncertain quick spin-up tornadoes are, putting the possible tornado tag on the severe thunderstorm warning helps prevent false alarm tornado warnings when a tornado does not develop.

I wish they would reevaluate how they draw their polygons for severe thunderstorms warnings.

I caught three last night for a storm that was clearly going to stay severe. The first warning got a portion of the county to my SE and part of my county. About five minutes later they issued another for the northern part of that same storm that also included parts of both counties. When the original neared expiration they issued another that picked up in my county where the other left off and went into the county to my east. That's three warnings for one county (it isn't a very big part of the county, either) for the same storm that one warning could have covered with no problem. That's three different times that the weather radio went off for the same county with the same storm.

NWS Huntsville has gotten worse and worse with this in recent times.
