Reading some of the language of this bill, I agree that THIS one has issues.

It's just propaganda to take down a successful platform the US government has limited control over. Our alphabet agencies know they can strongarm any US-based social media company to provide anything they request. We've seen the likes of Facebook and Twitter bow at their feet. However, with Tiktok's explosive growth, the alphabet agencies realized they had very little to no control over a foreign entity so they created the whole Tiktok = CCP narrative to justify taking it over. Yes, Tiktok is technically most likely controlled by the CCP, but why does that automatically mean it shouldn't be allowed? Our social media platforms are all controlled by the federal government, yet it's okay?

If you're this upset over CTH, wait till you find out about legacy media, Operation Mockingbird and the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012...
At least DJT's pending Executive Order that Biden's string-pullers were quick to rescind was targeted specifically at TikTok and ByteDance.
All CTH did was draw attention to the deliberately vague language of the bill and how quickly it could be "repurposed" to target any outlet that Congress or the WH doesn't view as friendly.

But they 100% will have involvement, and while they aren't listed as the actual "owners", let's be honest and know they are in bed with the major platforms to do their bidding.
The US govt cannot control or make money off TikTok as it stands, so they want it gone or under "American" ownership so they can get into bed with whomever takes it over.
The irony of all the "it pushes communism/marxism/socialist ideals!" screamers is that 1) It actually allows the opinion/speech of all ideals and 2) The US federal government has already shown it has interest in and will push whatever narrative it wants, while silencing the opposition under the guise of "hate speech" or "misinformation".
Looking at TikTok as it is now, it allows more free speech than it would under US government control, in my opinion.
That's not to say I trust the CCP, but it's more of a comment on how much distrust I have for the US federal government when it comes to censorship and shady behind the scenes actions basically circumventing 1A.

You don't realize it but you agree with tCTH probably 90% of the time. They just hit a strong nerve on the 10% y'all are not aligned. But in the general sense of the direction of the country your post history is aligned with the direction the CTH wants to go. Y'all just disagree on a couple of key leaders to help take us there.
