No one in the United States should be retiring at 65 years old
Easy to say, while youre sitting in a cozy, comfy chair All Day Long

Retirement usually comes into these categories:
1. I made a LOT of money working hard and investing wisely specifically so I could retire early from a tough job and enjoy myself before I'm too old.
2. I like my job and will never retire. It's not wearing me down, it's keeping me active.
But there is another category that is hard to do:
3. I want to work part time after age 65. Half the hours for half the pay. But my company says they can't do that.
I know a LOT of older folks who wanted to do No. 3 but it wasn't workable with the employer.

SS is not going to be insolvent within the decade. Stop listening to the fear mongering.

Fentanyl overdoses, suicides and plain violent crimes probably. Throw in a sedentary lifestyle of video gaming and it's ill health effects.
So, their choices.
I don't think the violent crime thing is accurate. Hasn't violent crime actually trended down the last few decades?

Probably Ben's worst take of all time. What an out of touch, moronic thing to say. I guess it's easy to say people shouldn't retire when your job is doing a 45 minute to an hour podcast every day repeating the same takes over and over and you're a millionaire.
It’s too sweeping, for sure, but it’s a good point. We need purpose in life and to feel worthwhile. Most people lose that when they retire. As someone pointed out, it’s a lot harder for a manual laborer to keep working as his body breaks down.

I feel for Ben, placing such high value on his time spent working compared to other aspects of life. For me, work is simply a means to support my family; it's not where I find fulfillment. Losing my mom years ago taught me the priceless value of time with loved ones. I'd give anything for one more day with her, yet I've never desired to work a day that I didn’t need to.

mental decline after retirement leading to death.
I think it’s safe to say that research is inconclusive regarding whether or not early retirement significantly contributes to mental decline.
I would wager endogenous factors play a much bigger role than whether or not you are technically employed.

If I made millions of dollars just talking I would agree.

As a former employer, that's because part time workers are usually a PITA.

Yeah. Most of its still hood rat shooting hoot rat.
The gun violence stats are even more murky, most are suicides.
I've accepted hood rat occupational violence as a part of life. The progressives dont seem to care about it either.
