I retired at 62.

Shapiro can suck the juice outta my arse with a straw. Never have been able to stand that pretentious know-it-all gay POS.

Man frick Shapiro. The point of life isn't to work for everyone. Some people have families and hobbies. We can all be a shitbag conservative trolls for a living

His whole point included mental decline after retirement leading to death. Don’t know if that is true. I listened to the show yesterday and remember. Your quote is not full…

Social security, Medicare, and Medicaid are going to be the death of this country. We can't afford it but no one has the guts to do anything about it.

FDR set a time bomb that's going to go off within the next two decades.

Agreed. It's going to cause a total collapse if we don't make changes, but almost nobody is willing to accept that they won't get back what they were promised.

He's essentially retired already. He does podcasts (real hard for him ) and owns part of the Daily Wire but doesn't run it.

He also strikes me as the sort of guy who really has no interests outside of what he does.

The only other thing he probably does is go to his local synagogue on Saturdays.

Why?

Fentanyl overdoses, suicides and plain violent crimes probably. Throw in a sedentary lifestyle of video gaming and it's ill health effects.

Meanwhile in Israel, every citizen gets free healthcare and can retire at the age of 67. But that’s different, you see

You don't have to pay for the group that celebrated culcha over there.

Also you don't have the pleasure of 3 million illegal aliens coming that you need to house, feed and provide medical care.

Americans have to slave away and work 24/7 365 past the age of 65 so that we can fund every other developed country in the world being allowed to have a more relaxed work life and schedule.

Isn’t it great?

There was a little context to that . He mentioned that when people do the vast majority of them die from lack of do nothing. When people do retire I suggest finding something to do every day whether it’s working, working out, fishing or volunteering just do it. Sitting around sucks

right.

I'm in the middle of two months off right now and due to my wife getting sick, am at not traveling like I wanted.

I'll have either a big arse hobby or start a part time business when I retire.

Yeah, I find that if you don't have some sort of reason to get up in the morning at any age, your overall health seems to suffer.

I think Shapiro was just expressing his preference of that if you can work ....and you like what you do, probably a good idea to keep doing it. Look at Mick Jagger ,Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood. All pushing close to 80 and still touring with Mick still prancing around on stage.

The rest of us cant wait to finish our time busting our asses for companies that dont truly appreciate any of us.

To be fair, this was Ben Shapiro when he worked for Breitbart.

So he started his own company. He's "making millions" based off investing his own economic future and building a successful company.

That sort of bootstrapping used to be what conservatives celebrated.

Are you saying we dont need government to mediate our success? this might present a conundrum among the gents of MAGA.

Gen X and Millennials grew up in much more violent times.

It's due to the impact of 2 major economic disrupters in the 2009 Great Recession and Covid.
