LSU honestly had no other option but to seperate ways unless they wanted to just play absolute hard ball.
Tha bengals said he is about to win the conference with Mcneese. They play good ball.
He may be a better coach now that he went through all that turmoil and he is on a vengeance tour.

Aside from Saban and (begrudgingly) Sherman, LSU has never in her esteemed history had a more talented General prowling the campus than the great CWW.

He was just fine at LSU. I have no idea where this idea that he was a terrible coach comes from

Maybe the competition is not as good so his teams are beating non-SEC comp

That final season at LSU he found a style of defense that has turned him into a better coach. His offenses have always been productive and efficient but he kept shuffling through defensive styles that weren’t consistent those first few seasons at LSU. Now he’s got the model for both ends to be elite.

I think people forget how young Wade is. He’s only going to get better. What was he like 36 when he became head coach at lsu?

He coached us to a 3 seed in the tourney his 2nd year with us, baw, AND, had he coached in the conference tournament, we probably earn a higher seed instead of losing to Florida in the quarters. Don't believe the anti-Wade media hype.

He's older, hopefully wiser, has access to the transfer portal, NIL, and of course it's the Southland Conference. 5/10 teams had 20 or more losses and his closest competitor was Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 21-11.

That said, great turnaround this year. Should beat Nicholls in the championship game and go dancing.

No LSU coach has out-recruited Dale Brown. And frankly, no one did more come tourney time. He was there for 25 years, you would think you would know these things.

I suppose he is on a more level playing field. NIL and Transfer Portal has made recruiting more equal. Blue Bloods can no longer stockpile players, giving Sport outsiders the opportunity to sign, develop and be more competitive .
Look how Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and North Carolina teams have fallen back into the pack.
