This guy's comments are just absurd.
No, it's definitely about politics.
Nope. It's just racism and discrimination.
The athletes don't bring that much value - the fans are the center of gravity in college sports. The fans are there before the athletes and they'll be there after the athletes. People show up to cheer on their school, the name on the back of the jersey is a distant second. Players matter, but the fans are the center of gravity.
Nebraska has been trash, with pretty terrible players, for almost 20 years now. That stadium is sold out every game. They filled their football stadium for a volleyball game one time. Players don't make that happen. That's all on the fans.
At some point people are going to have to break the news to the players: they are not driving this train. If they want to walk away, the locker rooms will be filled in about 5 minutes after they announce tryouts. And the stadium attendance will barely see a blip of disturbance. College campuses are filled with guys that were excellent athletes in high school yet not offered scholarships to college. With good coaching, you'll still see good football.
Nothing from DeSantis is stopping the "investment" in athletes. Athletes of all colors are the most pampered people on campus and more dollars are spent on athletes than any other group. DEI wasn't affecting anything for athletes. This is just politics and trying to hurt DeSantis, Florida, and Republicans.
This idiot should keep politics and sports separate. Sports should bring us together, not be used to divide us.

The value Black and other college athletes bring to large universities is unmatched.

If these institutions are unable to completely invest in those athletes, it's time they take their talents elsewhere.

This is an honest question: why does no other race say things like this? You never hear Hispanic or Asian folks talk about “progressing their culture”. What exactly needs to be progressed in Black culture? Again, honest question; I’m just looking to be educated.
This is called "we need to stay relevant, and keep giving us money please." It's pandering to their own choir.

They really think having 13 grifting DEI reps in the state a kid goes to college is more important to that kid than the bag and playing time?

No, they don’t. Nothing about DEI is about the individual. The NAACP doesn’t care about the individual black athlete at all.

“Ni**as fake-progressive and woke, I started sayin' less
I had to stop it, peeped how they profit off of racial stress
Some activists got so rich, they prolly wish we stay oppressed”
The NAACP, Dems, and their ilk just create noise to keep the money rolling in. They don’t give half a frick about black people. I wish black folks weren’t so eager to trust these institutions.

I guess going after the universities is the low hanging fruit instead of going after the frick tard that signed the bill into place forcing it to happen.

equitable and effective educational outcomes
This phrase is 100% of the problem with DEI.
Most reasonable people completely agree with equitable opportunities and equitable support.
But it is impossible to make outcomes equitable, unless you lower the bar to the lowest common denominator, and that helps absolutely no one, including black people.
Also if there is ANY thing that does t need additional support, it is lack athletes attending power five schools on athletic scholarship

Shouldn't they be raising money to start those programs back up?
Posted on 3/14/24 at 1:32 am to JerryTheKingBawler
Because they can always go back to their original land, where as so called black(African Americans)don't have ties to Africa so they only have their culture that was created here to rely on as a since of being in America.

quote:Dexter Manley attended a pwi for 4 years & couldn't read a newspaper. Many others like James Brooks of Auburn had a degree ( ?) , but could not read a basic letter or document( Would never happen under Eddie Robinson) .These PWI care about these conditioned tapdancers as long they can run , chunk & dunk & keep the money flowing in.
The NAACP doesn’t care about the individual black athlete at all.
If I'm the NAACP I'd ask people like Emmitt Smith why he wouldn't play for a Black coach ? Now you want us to help you beg PWI'S for diversity & inclusion?

Are these people born this stupid or does it gradually happen over time? Genuinely curious

Many African migrants have a higher average salary than whites in the USA, specifically Ghana, Nigerian, Ethiopia, and Kenya thanks to DEI and stuff like it.
So what is their excuse?

African immigrants work their asses off, have strong family units, and greatly value education. They also HATE black American culture, which is pretty much the exact opposite of what I just listed.

What do SWAC schools provide for student athletes that “PWIs” do not? Explain.

the house always talks down to the field
let those athletes make the best choice for themself as opposed to you ranting about something for a week

So now blacks are not coming to Florida colleges or visiting due to racism per black leaders.
Ok
Ok
