I don't see why anyone would be "mad" about this. Finland is a different issue.

So another country we have to foot the bill to protect? Sounds like another country on foreign US welfare.

China and Russia are unlikely to exist as functional states, at least in their current forms, in the next 20 years. They are both in demographic collapse. My biggest concern with Russia is the dying-out of the ethnic Russian population and their Turkic Muslim southerners becoming the dominant group and having access to Russia's nuclear arsenal in 50-60 years. China will fragment and their coastal cities will form economic (and maybe even military) ties with foreign governments. Shanghai and Beijing like each other about as much as Portland and Chattanooga do.

And do you think America will exist as a functional state in 20 years? Our white population is in demographic collapse as well. So is all of Europe. I think the coming Muslim majority in Europe is more concerning than Russia.

Also, I think America is in the greatest danger of having a major civil conflict due to population change. Russia and China will brutally put down any rebellion without hesitation. America would be much more complicated. The hate here grows by the day.

The only thing keeping America together is prosperity and a comfortable lifestyle. When that begins to fade is when the shite will hit the fan.

China is not invading Russia. They would have every country in the world as enemies.

Not many countries or people have that much love for Russia. Personally, I would give -3 fricks if Russia and China went to war over Outer Manchuria or the water of Lake Baikal.

It's not going to fade. The U.S. is positioned to be even more prosperous in the future than we are now. It's not that our politicians are good (they're not), but we have the most favorable geography, climate, agricultural system, internal transport system, and energy sector on the planet.

By rapidly and drastically changing the demographics of the country we have no idea what effects that will have. The US will basically look more and more like Central and South America than it did just a few decades before. Will those immigrating adapt to our way of life? I hope so, but nobody knows for sure. We also have no idea how many are coming and who exactly they are? Are we getting basically the prisoners from places like Venezuela? The situation at the border is a complete shite show.

Just wait when these younger generations get into all levels of power and you will be dreaming of better places.

Those numbers are % of GDP, not federal outlays. US defense expenditures are ~3.3% of GDP.
