Now that Nikki Haley has suspended her presidential campaign, it is perhaps unsurprising that six of the seven Republicans in Louisiana's congressional delegation have now endorsed Donald Trump as the GOP nominee for president.
Rep. Garret Graves, R-Baton Rouge, who had not previously endorsed, was the latest to jump on the bandwagon.

The lone remaining GOP holdout is U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge.

His spokesperson responded the same way Cassidy has for months: He plans to “vote for a Republican," but will not issue any endorsement.

How could he endorse him when he previously voted to remove him from office?

Other than talking points, does this really matter?
I don’t think he’s voting for Biden

He was a Democrat well into the 1990s, supporting the likes of 1988 Democratic nominee Michael Dukakis and 1992 presidential candidate Paul Tsongas.
Cassidy also publicly supported Governor Blanco right up until Katrina. After that, he was an opportunistic politician who switch parities.

However, in that 2006 State Senate special election, incumbent State Rep. William Daniel was painted as the RINO tax & spend Republican and Cassidy painted as the conservative challenger.
Cassidy beat Daniel, and then eventually progressed to U.S. Rep. and U.S. Senate.

other Republicans were running that hadnt voted to impeach trump over lies.
Cassidy voted to move forward with those proceedings AFTER he won re-election in a landslide in 2020.
So no. There has not yet been the chance for a candidate to run against him since that vote in Congress.

I still didnt vote for him, there were other people running against him.
Now i understand why you would have in 2014, he was in the run off with Landrieu.
