most expats I know (or wannabe expats in waiting) leave due to the deals they are able to get. Many of them early retirees or remote workers.
Homes/lands/homesteads can be found on the cheap in places like Portugal and italy. There are some towns in italy that even offer incentive packages.
Never met anyone that said they moved out due to a POTUS.

frick these people. Plus if you are going to move to Tuscany and live in an apartment, you are a real fool...and Tuscany is so yesterday. All the really cool people are looking at the Basilicata region.

I really wish I could do this. My dream is that a bunch of my friends get together and buy an outrageously cheap abandoned medieval village in Italy or Spain where mountains meet the sea, slowly renovate it, and turn it into a baw sanctuary. Maybe ranch some cattle and grow some crops, run a b&b with a farm to table restaurant, build a pub where we can play music, watch football, and drink frozen daqs, etc.
