Most under rated/improved going into season LSU baseball player:

I got Brady Neal. Upvote if you concur, down if you don’t. He looks like he can hit 15+ home runs, throw people out at second and not clog up the baseline.
Am I right or am I wrong? Who cares? This post will have scrolled into oblivion within the hour.
I still think Brady Neal is the most improved. I’m glad I am not the coach trying to keep Neal, Travinsky and Milazzo happy.
As great as Milazzo has been, if it’s a championship game, I got Neal catching and Travinski at dh.

Hot take tonight.

Neal was playing pretty damn well before his injury last year for being a true freshman.
We have an embarrassment if riches at catcher. There aren't many teams who wouldn't absolutely love to have any of our three.

Not sure about most improved. I mean he was pretty great as a true freshman catcher last year as well until he got hurt.

Neal won the starting job as a freshman last year, not surprised how well he is doing this year.

No doubt. But to be fair, Neal has hit the ball hard all year, even on his out hits. And he appears to improve et gunning down runners.
But its no science, juts a matter of pinion, but Neal has to be in the conversation for most improved/ pleasant surprise player.

Milazzo is still going to see a lot of time. CJJ made the comment that they burnt out Neal last year and that might be what led to his injury. I’m with you though. He looks like a stud in the making

Neal won the job as a true Freshman. He also hit clutch HRs vs Arkansas and Tennessee. He is hitting the ball more consistently but people forget that he was great at getting on base last year with walks.
Its still early but my most improved would be Sam Dutton. Neal/Jones/Kling have all taken a step forward in their development at the plate so hard to pick one.

Neal was a stud last year before the injury. Not sure I’d call him most improved.
I’m holding out for Jones. If he can lay off of the breaking stuff once conference play starts he might be my guy.

I got kling for most improved. I thought neal was good last year

Hitting/Defense: Kling, he looks the part so far this season.
Pitching: Dutton, still sporting a 0.00 ERA and he has pitched in some high-leverage situations with runners on. Seems to be another reliable RHP CJJ can call upon.

Imagine having 3 catchers who are quality guys. 2 of them being offensive threat and one being the best defensive catcher in the sec.
I remember going on a 10 year stretch where we couldn’t even throw a runner out at second

I actually think Neal flashed last last year. That’s why he was the starter lol. Just got injured

I said this last year too, but Neal reminds me of one of my all-time favorite Tigers, Ryan Schimpf. Lots of pop for a smaller guy and a smooth lefty swing.
But like many have already said, I don't know if he's the most improved because he was pretty stellar last season. To me, it's Kling in the field and Dutton on the mound.

Anyone watching Kade Anderson
He’s not just a good freshman he’s prob LSU’s 2nd or 3rd best pitcher overall

Agree, wasn’t only the D that screwed him yesterday either, I think Yeskie was calling the game differently after LSU got a big lead
Not sure if OP is counting freshmen

Anderson has “future Friday night” starter vibes. And yes, I think by the end of the year, he will be on the mound in some meaningful SEC situations. But the OP stated most improved. To me, since I’ve never seen Anderson before this year, then this season is his baseline.
Regardless of semantics though, Anderson is special and could be LSU’s ace at some point in his Tiger future.

“Most under rated” are the first three words my guy

I'm going to go with Kling as most improved and Milam as the most pleasant surprise. Jay hasn't missed an opportunity to talk Milam up, but he has definitely exceeded even the highest expectations I had on him for this early in the year.
Neal imo was thought of to be a mainstay in our lineup because of his bat. As others have mentioned, he won the job as a true freshman for opening night last year.
