I was 8, living in NE TX, watching the Von Erichs on WCCW. Riding bikes, exploring, fishing, and playing hide and seek after dark.

quote:Same. I was only 5 though so the only things I remember clearly is the cable car across the river and a big pirate ship in an exhibition hall.
At the world's fair in NOLA.

I was 6. Like many of you, I got to go to the World's Fair at least twice. Spent the other time watching the Muppet Show and Transformers, and generally being shitty at youth sports.

After experiencing "Falcon" on my brother's Amiga 500, it was lame for awhile until the PC world caught up.

Probably at general cinemas or alladin's castle at acadiana mall. Without parents. I was just under 10. They would have been at the mall for hours socializing and shopping. Possibly I would have just been dropped off. If summer time would have watched several movies. May have ridden our bikes there.
It was different for sure. Technology is wonderful, but has ruined carefree youthful childhood.
In that time frame (84-87) some of the best movies and best movie summers of all time happened. VCR's also started becoming ubiquitous and Friday night VCR rental and tape rental was the shiz.

I was in Japan, on a Naval Air Station. FA-18s, F-14s, A-6s, galore. All day every day. And 55 gallon drums full of fireworks in department stores. Ninja stars (real.) MP5 BB guns made out of metal.
No TV in English, the Armed Forces Network was so bad I don't ever remember watching it.

7 years old. Started at public school after going to private in K and 1st grade. Life was great in the 80s.

I was 11 years old so I was OUTSIDE playing with my friends. I do not think the Atari gaming system was out yet and we only had 3 channels on the 20" console TV with rabbit ears so none of us hung around inside the house.

Spring of 1984 I was finishing up my second semester of freshmen year at LSU. Getting laid a lot, the rest is a blur.

World's Fair as well. Early adolescence trying to impress girls in the neighborhood, playing Intellivision at my spoiled friend's house, touch football in the street, skateboards, jumping BMX bikes by laying sheets of plywood over illegally dumped kitchen appliances, shooting small animals with bb guns and playing with bow and arrows on an empty lot in N.O.
Oh and trying to avoid the 18-22 year-olds in the area driving their jacked up Cragar rimmed Novas, Dusters, Olds 442 and a Monza. They all looked like Todd from Beavis and Butthead and occasionally treated us like the freshmen in Dazed and Confused.
